I think RE7 would be too scary for me in VR.
Same with something like Amnesia.
With my blood pressure issues I could see that being a bad idea.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
The tar/mold creature things in RE7 have to be some of the most frustrating enemies I've encountered in a while.
In fact I'm finding the combat generally pretty bad in this game.

Speaking of rising blood pressure levels, a few days ago I finally completed Doom Eternal. Totally ace game, the sense of control, especially when airborne, was extremely liberating and exhilarating.
I was dead set on playing the game on the highest difficulty level and got a good way towards the end when I finally had to dial it down a single notch. It probably outstayed its welcome by a wee bit. By the end it was just sheer pandemonium if not always inspiration. But yeah, felt pretty exhausted and agitated after most sessions, a fact no doubt compounded by me totally losing my cool and hurling expletives at the old Oled tv.
Started up Ghost Recon: Wildlands now. The concept appeals to me, a more measured, tactical shooter (which I need after Doom Eternal) although I already encountered one game breaking bug 1 hour into it.

I still haven't played Eternal, but 2016 DOOM was one of the top games of that year.
I've heard the difficulty spikes in Eternal are pretty bad. Also hears rumors there's a boss (final boss?) that takes over an hour to beat.
Some encouraging news from Sony.
Apparently there are 25 big PS5 games being developed right now, with half of them being brand new IP's.

It get's a bit obnoxious and tiresome by the end. In the game's defense, there is always plenty of ammo and armor and health to go around if you remember to seek it out while you're running for dear life. And boy will you run like hell. all the time. And I lied previously. By the very end I had it on the easiest difficult level. LolQuoting megladon8 (view post)

I'm legit torn bc I love every melee style.Quoting Scar (view post)
Stealth/archer/assassin with illusion and resto thrown in ---> nothing funnier than casting Fury into the middle of a bandit crowd and watching them kill each other, while I either ohk backstab the stragglers or pick them off at a distance with the bow.
The dw chainsaw is good but I haven't gotten the dw perks yet. I like that it's super aggressive but otoh it also feels like I'm flailing around like a madman most of the time.
Favorite might be 2h or a shield, just because I love bashing mobs in the face and watching them stagger while I wind up the killing blow.
Picked up remastered Halo for 360. Introducing the boys.

I wish the magic system in Skyrim was a little more robust. I always go for spell-casters first, and the magic is just okay in Skyrim. It was cool for a little while but kinda limited compared to how I like to play mage types. I did make a bow/stealth dude at some point. Was pretty fun indeed.

I THINK I'm nearing the end of RE7...

Yeh but that sequence is quite long.
And a royal pain in the ass on hard difficulty.

Man, Microsoft wasn't messing around when they bought Bethesda.
Stanfield confirmed as an Xbox / PC exclusive.

Got a few Amazon gift cards for my bday, so I ordered Returnal.
Damn. $101.25 with tax.

Beat RE7.
Sorry but...that wasn't very good.
I hope Village is better. Sounds like it is more up my alley.

I remember absolutely loving the first half and then it just got kinda dumb with the mutations. It was way scarier when it was just that hillbilly family.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Remember the chainsaw boss guy being annoying as hell too.
Currently really enjoying RE2 remake.
I never played the original. How faithful is it?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

Pretty much exact.
I concur. Also, only buy #3 if on sale.

The RE Engine is gorgeous. Man those lighting effects are pretty.

There's no way it was this good back then.
Also I know this is kind of sacrilegious to say, but I really liked RE 0 back in the day.

Re0 is great. Nothing wrong with saying that. Was thinking about replaying it actually.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
But yeh. The remake is 100 percent redone. The puzzles are even different and made a little bit more authentic with the layout of the game. Particularly, the lab areas.
First three videos are up of my doing a double steam of RE8. (with timecodes!)
Did you love it??
