Wait, you have a wireless router? Then why not hook up the Wii wirelessly?

    Because it doesn't work.

    Error code 51330.

Nintendo's tech support doesn't help me at all on this issue, and when I Google for solutions, everyone seems to have to do something different to fix the problem.

Have you pushed the reset button on your router? I've had to do that numerous times on my linksys.

Yep, and I've also tried going through the power cycle on both the router and the modem.

I still keep getting one of two error messages - 51330, or 52030.

I added the Wii's MAC address to the "allow" list on my router's filter, and still nothing.

This is so very frustrating I'm starting to feel like throwing both systems in the trash and never playing a video game again.

Yeah, but when you're provided with so much material, the act is rejuvinated frequently!

    Indeed.

But seriously, I haven't been in school for nearly two years, so number8's comment perplexes me.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Meg, I had that same error code problem too when I tried to get my Wii online years ago. I remember the solution that worked for me and it was to change the password on the wireless router. I think I used a WEP password first, but later switched to a WPA password and then it worked all of a sudden.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is just as addictive and even more intense than its predecessor.

"Shadow Complex" is a mind-blowing blend of nostalgic gameplay and innovative new techniques.

"'Splosion Man" is good clean platforming fun.

LOTS of fun, numerous hours of gameplay. Definitely worth your time. If you can find it used or bargain-bin, don't hesitate. Downside is that once you've completed the quests and tasks in the game, there's nothing else to do. Oh, they'll let you run around in the game world as much as you want ... but there's nothing left to do.

Your powers as a villain are much more ... explodey ... than they are as a hero.

Does this make sense to anyone?

I only have one ethernet cable running into my TV room, so I have to share it between the 360 and the Wii (just plug it into whichever one I'm needing to use online).

Some of you may remember that about a week ago I was having a heck of a time trying to get my NAT type to "Open" on the 360. I finally figured it out - I had to go into my router settings and set one of the ports to allow all access on the 360's IP address.

However, my NAT type switched back to "Moderate". So I went into my 360's settings and found that the IP address had changed.

So I changed the router setting to match that IP address again, and all was good. But then logged in again after using the Wii and found that the NAT settings were back to "Moderate" again. And, again, the 360's IP address had changed.

Is it possible that every time the ethernet cable is unplugged from the 360 then re-plugged in, the IP address changes?

Or is there something else going on here that keeps causing the 360's IP address to change?
I recently had a similar problem and have since fixed it, here is what I did.

I set a static IP for my 360, after that, under the settings for my router I DMZ'd my 360's IP address. Which is something that should really never be done but since it is a 360 it will be fine.
