I'm reading a lot of diablo similarities and that's probably why people are frustrated. You can start a new game with every character out of the gate with diablo and it's likely something people aren't used to?

Wait y'all are responsible for this? I watched Kripp play it on Twitch. It looked pretty fun to me, as I like the Diablos and the genre. I'll probably give it a try sometime.Quoting [ETM] (view post)

Depends. If anything, it's certain that there are lots of folks on all sides of the argument. I've never been a Diablo or RPG, hack'n'slash fan, but it seems that what some find to be the best thing about Pagan, others hate the most, and vice versa.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I've been playing a lot of Gloomhaven with friends lately, and I find that unlocking new characters through sometimes devilishly difficult personal goals is one of the most intriguing and fun aspects of the game. I've seen what we're currently cooking up for future roll outs and it's gonna be awesome.
Oh yeah, I've been with the company for over five years now, wife and I were among the first 25 or so employees. I wasn't involved with Pagan online itself so far, but the missus has done some animations for trailers and in game story cut scenes. We also recently released a fun little mobile game called Taponomicon. It grew out of an internal game jam, which my wife's team won. Lovecraft fans should at least check it out.Quoting Wryan (view post)
So, after all that wait and anticipation and promotion...Days Gone sucks.

Dark Souls is on sale for the Switch at $30. Worth it?
I don't mind grinds or RNG ... but from what I heard, it sounds like a boss rush game that depends on the player learning fight patterns through trial and error. Is that accurate?
Yes.
Anything SoulsBorne is worth getting.Quoting Irish (view post)
Broken record- Beat the shit out of Demons Souls and Dark Souls III. It’s a challenge. Fair, but challenging.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
that's a depressingly linear way of thinking about it. pretend that you're 8 years old and you don't know what the fuck it is and there is no internet to tell you. it's a magical mystery. then just play.Quoting Irish (view post)
it's not a boss rush at all, it's more about exploration and carving out a path.
it's maybe the best game of the last 10 years, definitely worth $30.
The severed arm perfectly acquitted itself, because of the simplicity of its wishes and its total lack of doubt.
Still playing RDR2. At 96% progress now. Is that mission progress now or does it take all things into account like hunting legendary animals?
Can't believe I've been playing it for 6 months now. Thing has more ending than Return of the King.

I'm at the mountain... Finishing where we started, I'm guessing.

Agreed.
It’s a boss rush if you’ve played it thirty times and are trying to do a speed run.
But they have some of the coolest, deepest, richest worlds I’ve ever seen in games.
In RDR2? I'm pretty sure I'm close to done with the epilogues, but I haven't been back there.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

I finally beat Genichiro.
That was 2 weeks and upwards of 12 hours.
For me it was the hardest boss From has created thus far.
And I stress the “for me” part. One of my favorite aspects of their games is the variety of different experiences players have, depending on how they play.
For example I know D_Davis has an insane amount of trouble with Gehrman in Bloodborne, but I beat him on my first attempt.
However D had very little trouble with Genichiro, while I took 2 weeks to beat him.
2018’s Call is Cthulhu was a bit disappointing. Most of that stems from how poorly the writing (both dialogue and written text) was translated. You can really tell this game was not developed by English speaking people, which is fine, but very little care was put into translation or proofreading.
Some of it even leads to plot points and character dialogue that are near incoherent.
It’s not the prettiest game, and the controls are sluggish (with some of the worst “shooting” I’ve ever experienced).
But it has some neat, original ideas that it plays with.
Ending was a bit disappointing as well, and a tad incoherent (due to, again, messy translation and proofreading).
In the end I would only really recommend this to diehard Lovecraft / Mythos fans.
The 2005 Bethesda game is much better.
awesome
Big rumour: Assassin's Creed Ragnarok to be the next in the series.

I had a very productive night of RDR2 last night!
- I tracked down and bagged the legendary buck over yonder of Strawberry
- I sold the carcass and hide to the trapper north of Emerald Ranch
- I used the antlers to craft the buck trinket at the Emerald Ranch Fence
- back at the camp, I upgraded the chuckwagon to stock cocaine gum
I think it's been about 2 weeks since I've done a story mission. I'm still in chapter 4.
Next up, I'm a craft me up one of them fancy satchels, and probably see what sorta fancy outfit the trapper can make for me with that legendary buck hide.
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
I need to get this game (when it's released on PC next year).
Sticking to Chapter 4 as long as you can may be the best thing you can do.
Went back to God of War after RDR2. Things are heating up with some awesome boss fights. In typical GoW fashion, exhaustingly thrilling and a bit frustrating, but when victory comes calling, a fistpumping good time!!!
