I'll still predict that the whole world is discovered within a couple months in that.
It took the world 2489 days to reach the end in Noby Noby Boy.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
The universe in No Man's Sky is exponentially bigger than the galaxy in Noby Noby Boy.
So I predict it will take a little longer than a couple of months for every planet to be discovered.
The bigger question is, will the game be any good and or fun?
My question: what kinda racist gamergatey names are we gonna see for the planets?

I feel like I'm doing everything in The Witness backward. Love it.
Completed Dark Souls II. Woo! Now all I feel is emptiness.
What's a Noby Noby Boy?Quoting D_Davis (view post)
PS3 game from the guy who made Katamari Damacy. You run around as Boy eating stuff, the more you eat the longer you grow, and every player reports their total length in a play session to make Girl stretch across the galaxy. Every time she reaches a new planet, that planet becomes a new level in the game for everyone to play.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

So what I'm hearing about No Man's Sky, is that if you discover a planet, and you're the first person playing NMS to ever discover that planet, then you get to name it, and that is the name of the planet for everyone playing NMS. So, what that means, is that when I fire the game up for the first time, all of the planets within hours of flying will have had their names set by a bunch of jackass teenagers who pre-loaded the game onto their console of choice or PC and have been playing for about 18 hours straight before I even had gotten a chance to play it (and this, assuming I play it on launch day).
Not sure about you guys, but I can see running across a planet named FvCKURM0th3R kinda souring the experience for me. I hope there is a way to turn this off and set the names of the planets for me and me alone.

I've heard that the chances of a player ever running into another player, or another player's planets, is incredibly rare, because the universe is so huge. The chances will grow as players move towards to goal and converge at the center of the universe, but that will probably take us all some amount of time.
There are more planets in the game than grains of sand on Earth.
I really don't think you guys understand just how massive the universe is.
People will be tired of the game before even a fraction of them are discovered.
But the chances of running into "Dukefrukem Outter Rim" will be great because I will invite you all to my planet.

Ah, so basically everyone starts in some remote corner of the universe, then, rather than everyone starts on planet A? Okay, that I can deal with.

I'll be perfectly content just exploring new planets. Sounds like the perfect game for chilling out with a cold one after the kids are in bed.

Will the planets be fully explorable? Or will there be like 30 square meters on every planet, and 2 or 3 interesting things to see?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
New species, plants, animals, civilizations, enemies and sometimes nothing on each planet. Not sure about the scope of the planet though.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
