    I'm loving it.

I've had 2 really annoying game breaking bugs (one literally in the first 20 minutes of play), but I'm loving the game play loop and style.

    The shooting feels awesome.

Last night someone got into my Playstation account and made TONS of charges on my credit and debit card. Emptied my checking account.

Anyone had any experience with stuff like this? Am I likely to get refunded by Sony?

No. That's crazy. Your bank should put the money back in within 24 hours though. They will deal with Sony.

Why do you have your debit card tied to your PSN? CCs will give you that extra layer of protection.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

It's a VISA debit, so it's using money from my bank but works as a VISA card.

Either way I have removed all forms of payment from my PSN wallet.

From now on if I want to make a purchase I'll just enter my card.

Yeh that's how most debit cards operate. Never use debit cards for online anything. Only use them to get cash.

I did not know that, thanks. I use my debit pretty often online, this is the first time I've ever had something like this happen.

I thought the VISA debits were safer.

No VISA just means you can use it where VISA is accepted. It's a direct line to your money.

Another smart acquisition by Sony: Bluepoint Games

After working on high-profile remakes (most recently Demon's Souls), apparently their next project is an original.

The Far Cry series has never appealed to me much. I had an OK time with 3, and that's about it.

I'm really bored with the Ubisoft formula.

    Freaking Deathloop.

    Still completely obsessed with this.

I've played all 4 areas dozens of times, yet I'm still discovering entirely new areas in the maps.

The depth and level of detail in every area is wild.

I find there is a real prevalence lately in games reviewing / journalism, where the writers seem to think that hating absolutely everything makes them seem smart.

    Total Homer Simpson crap.

I don't know if anyone listens to Rebel FM, but Arthur Gies is a perfect example of this. I've listened to several hundred episodes of the show, where they discuss several games every episode. I think I've heard him like something maybe half a dozen times.

When you hate that many games...maybe you should stop gaming?

I haven't payed close enough attention to gaming journalism lately to really notice, but if that's true, I imagine it's a combination of too many writers deciding that negativity should be the default mode for media criticism, probably done in part to counter the presumed tendency of the general public to be too easily pleased with art, along with the tendency of "glass all-empty" negativity to thrive online in general, as oppposed to more positive discussion. Of course, that's just speculation on my part, but I can very easily imagine the two making for a toxic combination, especially in the gaming community, which already has a bit of a checkered past when it comes to its discourses anyway.

Maybe it's because of the recently announced trailer or because I was trying to play something that was nicely straight forward after not having touched my ps4 in a few months, but I started replaying uncharted 3 for the third time perhaps. That whole shipyard + cruise ship in rough seas still feels like action gaming nirvana. Ordered part 4 on the ps store, played that only once so eager to do that again.

    Saw credits in Deathloop.

Loved every second of it. One of my favorite games played this year.

I also understand every criticism I've read about it.

    It just worked for me.

Meg, you’ll be glad to hear a suspend feature has been added to Returnal.

    What does that entail exactly?

I fell off that game HARD in the third biome. Felt nearly impossible.

You know, pretty much exactly what people wanted. Not autosave -- you have to log out, and once you log back in the save point is deleted so you can't save scum.

First time to third biome was intimidating for me too, mainly due to flying robots who shoot rockets (which are much faster than other projectiles). Once I realized how to time a late dodge of the rockets, however, I flew through the level and beat the (awesome) boss on the first try. Then I raged through the fourth biome. I haven't played since, but I'll be returning sometime soon to finish the game.
