I recently restored my childhood Amiga 500. It’s been a blast replaying the games from when I actually played games. Played a lot of games with my 4 year old daughter. Dyna Blaster, Super Frog and Bubble Bobble were her favorites. Whenever she’s put to bed I’ve been playing Monkey Island.

Anyone who initiates incognito mode is watched personally by Bill Gates through their Webcam.

    I'm so jealous.

If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Never played Three Stooges or Death Sword. Unless Death Sword is what I know as Barbarian? Played that one on the C64.
There's like a million excellent games for the Amiga 500 system.

I think I'll fire up Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe tonight.

All I remember from the game, it was a stree fighter-like game where each player had the ability to cut the other person's head off with a sword.

Upgrading eligible PS4 games to the PS5 version is such a cluster.

Man, this console launch is such a mess.

Lol no but thanks for your generous offer!

I'm just surprised they hadn't ironed this stuff out before launch.

Seeing Amiga talk is entirely unexpected, but it warms my gamer heart. I no longer have an Amiga, but through emulation I can't resist the occasional retro gaming session. I even found an Amiga bezel to bring that gaming feeling home. My faves were and still are: Turrican 2, James Pond: Robocod, Rick Dangerous 2, Lotus Turbo Challenge 1 and 2, Silkworm, Speedball 2, The Blues Brothers, Kick Off 2, Sensible Soccer, Prince of Persia, Parasol Stars (=sequel to Rainbow Islands!), Cannon Fodder, Jimmy White Whirlwind Snooker, The Giana Sisters (Mario clone against which Nintendo took action), IK+ (Archer McLean was a coding God as were the Bitmap Brothers), Gods, Another World, Batman The Movie.

I've literally never heard of any of the games you all have mentioned. James Pond: Robocod sounds like a winner though.

. It's a cutesy platform game. Back in the day the Amiga was trying to compete with the SNES and Genesis but a real console style patformer wasn't really available. Then, along Came a few. the Addams Family, zool, this one. Ocean was a powerhouse publisher back in the day. U.S Gold was another one. Turrican was by factor 5, later of the Rogue Squadron games. blood money, another shooter, was by DMA Design, which became Rockstar north. Which reminds me. Lemmings was another seminal Amiga game.

Edit: coincidentally, a turrican collection Will come out for switch and PS4 in a couple of weeks. The soundtrack for turrican 2 is one of the best I ever heard. Chris Hulsbeck was genius.

Yeah, I think that one is also called Barbarian. Looks very similar, but I haven't played it in like 25 years, so who knows if it's really a different game.

That's a great list of games, and many of those I absolutely *love*.

The LucasArts adventure games are the ones closest to my heart, though. Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones. I even have a framed Monkey Island poster in my office / game room.

I tried emulation, but part of the experience is putting in that floppy and hoping for it to load. Emulation just didn't really do it for me.

I had to install a df0: / df1: switch on the Even chip so I can use a USB Gotek drive alongside the original disk drive. I'm very happy with that solution.

The whole restauration of my Amiga 500 took a few months, but oh man, it tickles when I turn it on and the disk drive goes "tick, tick, tick".

Amiga was way ahead of its time when compared to PC gaming. It had a built in sound card, which back then, was incredible. We didn't have intergraded sound cards in motherboards back then!

^ Diablo II. 4K remaster. All platforms. Cross progression.

This seriously undermines my resolve to avoid anything Activision does.

Yeah, my close buds and I were geeking hard about this.

The second that music started to play in the trailer, I got the feels.

Can't wait. Might be more excited for this than D4.

Housemarque's new roguelike PS5 exclusive. I'll definitely be picking this up.
