As an outsider to video games at the moment (debating on getting a Switch or PS5 sometime next year), how does this community feel about The Last of Us 2? It had a divisive reaction so that's why I ask.

I'll never play it again, but it was definitely an experience unlike anything I've ever played before. So many "Wow" factors.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

It had a divisive reaction? Everything I watched, people seemed to really love it. I watched Duke play through most of it, seemed pretty sweet to me.

But yeah, it's kinda like a movie too. You're there for the story. So I didnt feel there would be a lot of replay. That's not a complaint btw

I'm thinking of splurging on 4 games right now. Haven't played anything on my PS4 in a while.

I'd say yes based on a major character decision.

After my move, when I found my Blu-ray collection, I found my PS3 collection as well. And there's a large number of games I've been meaning to play and forgot about.

After I'm done with Cyberpunk and Dark Souls I may switch back to the PS3 too.

Not trying to sound like an old man, but I'm still surprised at some of the graphics the PS3 puts out. One of the best systems I've ever owned.

I haven't played literally dozens of awesome games from the previous decade. No need to spend money or buy into hype, especially since I'm not big on online gaming.

I began playing The Last of Us 2. It's early days, but no kidding. It takes a while to get going although the voice acting and characters look like they're tremendously accomplished, very lifelike although the original was no slouch in that regard either. I'm still super curious to see why there was an uproar as I'm puzzled why that could be. It's probably the poisonous nature of social media that reared its ugly head.

I enjoyed watching Duke play Last of Us 2. Tried the first one and never got into it. Gotta be in the right frame of mind for stealth games. It’s a rarity.

Pulled the trigger on my game splurge.

Got RE2 and RE3 remakes, RE7 (never played it, going to do it VR), and Ghost of Tsushima.

Well, part of that is due to the death of [redacted], another part is because of a sudden narrative shift about halfway through, but if you haven't gotten to either of those parts yet, you'll know 'em when you see 'em, heh.

    Yeppers.

Tons of fun stuff on there.

So far my favorite VR experience has been Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Just incredible stuff. IMO one of the best platformers ever made.

The Last of Us backlash has certainly dissipated now that everyone has gotten to play it.

Lost track of how many times I played it. Strongly recommend checking out dual wielding.
Okay.. so uh any tips for fighting dragons? I'm level 10 and just got chomped in a random (?) event.

(It was fucking cool as hell, though. Dragon attacked a bandit fort, I bolted but then thought ... hell yeah I can join the fight and we'll beat it! Nooooooope)

Honestly, I’d wander around, explore a bunch of mines / caves / what not and level up a bit.

My first play through I chopped wood until I had enough money for plate mail armor, or whatever the heaviest armor was in the first town.

I would rather be water boarded with diarrhea than play any gacha games.

Genshin Impact looked interesting until I discovered that part of it, then my interest dropped to negative 9000.
