I bought The Last of Us 2 last year, and since I hadn't played the first since release I decided to replay it first.
I think I played about 2 hours before I left it out of boredom.

I honestly do not know, but I do think you bear resemblance to the guitarist in that video.
Sony is making some really weird decisions.
Sounds like they're all but giving up production on anything that isn't a AAA tentpole title.
And rumor has it they actually requested Naughty Dog postpone the new IP they are working on, in order to do remakes of their older titles. The Last of Us and allegedly the first Uncharted.

Who knows. What hurts my brain is trying to estimate how much the unavailability stems from chip/console shortages vs. overwhelming demand. Like, it could be the case it's breaking sales record because no one can get one.
Possible for sure, but both Sony and Microsoft have said that they are having major production and order fulfillment problems because of this chip shortage.
So, "significantly less consoles being made than expected" doesn't seem to jive with "we're having our best consoles sales year ever".
Unless they're doing something kinda shady and counting pre-pre-orders as sales.

Or they are just selling them as they immediately become available because Gamers don't know how much longer the shortages will be?
But again if there are barely any being made available how are they breaking so many records?
