Terminator if it's a straight up brawl. If in a setting like a factory, Robo would have a shot.

This is a fucking excellent analysis of Valve Level design compared to other games.

This must be why I feel so bored with Alan Wake or Doom Eternal.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Was there an Alan Wake for PS2 or PS3? I swear I've played it before.

Horizon Zero Dawn isn't clicking for me. Strange. It looks great three years on, gameplay is rock solid, the robotic monsters look tremendous and yet, I'm feeling bored with its wide open spaces which all look the same, a story which isn't grabbing me, battles which feel like work. To be sure, I'm not very far into it, but The Division 2 is really beckoning.

Anyone know whether Horizon Zero Dawn gets more intriguing? Like there's some big reveals on the - wait for it! - horizon?

I installed, and didn’t even get out of the tutorial.

Okay that's enough of that. Horizon may be a little over-praised, but it's still a good game.

The base game is probably $5 because they just released a massive expansion.

Oh, I know it’s a good game. Problem is, I have to be in a certain mood for stalk / stealth games. Which is why I never got into Last of Us.

This got me thinking. A lot of Sony exclusives these days feature crouching in tall grass.

I dropped Horizon Zero Dawn for now. Started The Division 2 and it's pretty telling how quickly that game clicked. Maybe it's the military theme that I'm so enamored of. It's a big world too, but with landmarks left and right, and a more boxed in feel altogether, proceedings feel more thrilling, and not as samey.

Division 2, outside of being a decent bullet sponge game, has a great underlining story.

Ah really? I love part one, but I just recall "world destroyed by virus, factions are left and right, and you've got to restore order."

I Just like the way the game tells the story without narration and cut scenes. Most of the exposition is done through radio context, so you constantly feel alone in this barren world. And then you find clues all over the map, whether it be a recorded conversation, or two dead bodies in a bed holding hands with no audio at all. It tells a story without telling a story.

This of course is all under the umbrella of a stellar looking game engine.

Took down all available legendary animals with the Springfield before I even got the fishing pole or had to deal w/ Herr Strauss’ collections.

Thought I was doing good getting the pump shotgun this early, but I just robbed that house north of Strawberry and got my close quarters baby: The Semi-Automatic shotgun.

One of the first things I did was run down to Rhodes and got the Lancaster rifle in that one certain basement.

Yes, fully agree with this. And it's this feeling of desolation that I love about it. That's why I don't play co-op. I want to feel surrounded, uncomfortable, constantly on high alert. There are a lot of alleyways, hidden passages etc... Super tense, not scary, but tense.

I shot a boss dude in The Division 2 yesterday and looted his scope, which I proceeded to immediately attach to my machine gun.

    Such a great feeling!

Japanese tech journalist Zenji Nishikawa claims there's a huge scoop on the way that will be revealed in the June 4th edition of Weekly Famitsu.

He calls it a revolutionary announcement that will shake the videogame world to its core.

He then let slip one thing: Sega.
