I dunno, I stumbled across fifteen minutes of this on TV and it seemed like the dumbest thing ever. Disgusting and ridiculous!

    Oh no.

"The sky's the limit with a prequel," Gilligan tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Everybody who's now deceased in the Breaking Bad world is obviously still alive. You never know who might turn up and when and where."

Gilligan hasn't nailed down the details, but says Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) have expressed interest in doing cameos, while Saul's former private detective, Mike (played by Jonathan Banks in Breaking Bad), could potentially have a substantial role.

I'm going to reserve judgement under I see the product. That said, I would love to see Mike, Huell, and Cuby back.

Agreed. However, I absolutely do not want appearances from Walter or Jesse on the show. I don't want this show's timeline to intersect BB's. Their story should not be retconned by another series.

I think the only connection will be of the complete coincidence sort. I imagine Walter White simply being a high school teacher without any awareness of his oncoming cancer.

    Jesse, on the other hand...

This idea just seems cheap to me though. I only see it working temporarily, because we know the end of Saul's story already, and I'm not particularly interested in his beginning. Love the character, but if there was a prequel, it should be Gus or Mike.

I agree with E, except I never really cared much for Saul one way or the other. His character served a purpose, which he did fine, but don't know why he gets so much love. I'd love a Gus or Mike prequel, more Mike because Gus and Walt kind of mirror each other.

Seen the first two episodes, so not gonna read the other posts, but has this show (sorta) jumped the shark already? Hank's supposed to be a good cop right, driven, determined, leaves no stone unturned etc...

How is that anywhere near "jumping the shark?"

The closest "jumping the shark" moment might be the use of the twins.

well, sorta. in the sense that Hank seems to be getting careless rather soon. He struck me more as the kind of guy who would let things be so as not to arouse suspicion and then build his case without Walter knowing.

    Seriously.

I dunno, man. Hank is also portrayed as a very emotional dude, what with his panic attacks, pride and all. The revelation might not have him thinking that coldly at first.

Crap! I've no clue how the finale of episode 5 is going to resolve itself. Three more to go. This thing remains unusually well plotted.

Emotions, dude. This thing has been building for so long, he just cracks a bit under the last bit of pressure.

Andrea's scene was absolutely heart-wrenching. The moment it began my stomach hit the floor.
Was there a point to this though? I mean, other than rampant brutality? I thought they wanted to make jesse understand something, but why [
]? That said, I'm pretty much as blown away as everyone else here. So much of what happened in the entire show can be traced back to that pillow moment.

That's my dad's reason. It bothers him how stressed out the show makes him. I get it, but it bums me out. I like that engagement level. I like when a show can make me care that much.
I don't get it. You're still stitting, probably, in a comfy chair, possibly holding a nice drink or warm cup of tea and watching some of the best televion has to offer. How can there be stress? It should be the exact opposite. He should get stressed because he's not watching it.

Right. If the consequences aren't real, there's no reason for Jesse to cooperate.

    Duh. Of course!

It's happened a few times now with regards to the entire show, but every so often I'm thinking of the tagline of Taxi Driver

"On every street in every city, there's a nobody who dreams of being a somebody"

The alternate ending promised on the box set got leaked. I had a feeling it would be something like this.

    Breaking Bad (Season 5.5)

Just rewatching Season 5 for the first time; the first half is way, way too rushed, especially episode 8, where he goes from cleaning up the problem with Mike's 10 guys to building his own empire to retiring in like 20 minutes, and the retirement is handled in like a 10 second conversation. It really needed to a full season to get to that point, and the neo-Nazis introduced earlier instead of being a convenient deus ex machina out of nowhere....
