Might be over simplifying, but film vs. digital? I know it's still Robert Richardson behind the camera, but I think it's something about the way bold colours look with 6K. It doesn't work for me in a way meant to evoke period.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
At least Mann's version of digital is that hazy, fluid video-type look that makes it look surreal/hyperreal.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)

Public Enemies is fantastic.

Well jeez, thanks. :\Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Maybe it was because of Live By Nights poor numbers. Maybe not. Either way, I feel less nervous about a new Batman film with separated roles. Thats a lot to take on. I'm not worried about these delays. I'd much prefer these delays during preproduction and fix stuff before its fuckered up as opposed to rushing everything to meet a damn release date.
It is actually very good. But there's something about the digital movement that takes me out throughout the movie pretty frequently. So Henry Gale could be on to something. I didn't see enough of Live by Night to see if that was an issue. To me, the preview just looked very student-quality in that it just seemed staged/obvious. Again, Gale could be on to something.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Sorry TGM, was poking fun.
Kinda sad because I was looking forward to the glorious behind-the-scene footage of Affleck directing with his batsuit on.
Midnight Run (1988) - 9
The Smiling Lieutenant (1931) - 8.5
The Adventures of Robinhood (1938) - 8
Sisters (1973) - 6.5
Shin Godzilla (2016) - 7.5
Here's an idea: don't make another Batman film for at least 25 years.
The world seems a brighter place just thinking about it.

One hundred year minimum.
I'm all for a good moratorium -- but consider the consequences.Quoting transmogrifier (view post)
Less Batman means a higher chance of things like Green Lantern. And Aquaman sequels.
Nobody wants that, trans. Nobody wants that.
Then we must extend the ban to all comic book movies, just to be safe.Quoting Irish (view post)

Holy [Robin-ism], Batman! The full, otherwise unannounced Lego Batman cast is beautiful:

Cyborg kinda looks like someone glued a bunch of broken glass on him.

They should have made him look like the terminator instead of a lego creation.
Heh, yeah, he kinda does look like a Terminator. I think it's because they made him lean. It probably looks weirder to me because I'm used to seeing him looking more like a tank.

I feel like it's a matter of time until we do have some type of big crossover like Aliens VS. X-Men or Terminator VS. Superman or something of that ilk.

Batman delayed slightly. Looks like they're dumping the Affleck/Terrio script and looking to start from scratch with a brand new writer-director team. Which might mean Deathstroke as a villain is out.

Matt Reeves is the Batman director.

Hmm. Logical choice by studio and producers, I suppose.
Poor Affleck, they burned him out before he even got started.
Yeah I honestly feel for Affleck here. I think he could have done something pretty special.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Look, I think Affleck is a good director, but his best film by far is the one where he didn't choose to put himself in front of the camera. Add to that a production larger than anything he's ever helmed with an already hazy outlook of this iteration of the character after BvS, and the potential cons just feel like they stack higher.
But I also just think Reeves is one of the most talented guys getting studio's pet projects today. Sure, I'd prefer him being given free reign on something not already an established property, but I'll still watch whatever he does.
