He looked at George Clooney's Batman poster in the office and was like, "That's the next step I need to take to own Hollywood."

See, now if the news was Ben Affleck is DIRECTING Batman VS. Superman, that'd be just fine.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I'm honestly not against it at all, I was just caught off guard. (And really pipe dreaming for Michael Keaton!!)

It simultaneously feels so out of left field, and so darn obvious.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

I don't like it, but hell, who else could it be? I'd say out of the big names the only one who looks like a good Batman to me is Michael Fassbender but it might be overexposure if he's also Magneto.

    So go for it.

I'm worried more about the actual pairing and director than whoever was going to be cast as bats.

Zack Snyder is directing. It's probably wise not to get emotionally invested in this film. I know you want to forgive and see the best in people. But I've seen you hurt so many times before.

I have a feeling that Bruce Wayne won't even be in the movie.
    Sure why not?

I really hope so. If we only have to see Affleck's chin and voice it might not be all that bad.

It's a reasonable assumption if it is truly going to be a Superman movie that features Batman, but I'm pretty sure that at this point they're no longer going to treat it as Man of Steel 2 and in fact going to be Superman vs Batman.

Actually, I wonder how Cavill feels about all this. There's no question that he's going to be completely overshadowed on both the marketing and the press tours.

Heh. So Legendary will not be producing this, and is backing Interstellar instead. Which brings the question of how much Nolan is going to be involved in the sequel, really. My guess is little to none.
The press release doesn't mention Nolan once, so I assume he's not involved in any capacity. Which is good. He said he was done with Batman and he kept his word.

I'm unconvinced Affleck will do a good job, but I was also unconvinced about Heath Ledger and Michael Keaton. So, we'll see. I'm not a big Batman fan, anyway, so I don't really care enough to post this message.

    Who cares who plays Batman?

They're actually going to waste Batman/Superman project on Zack Snyder? This is where 100% of the outrage should be.

LOL at the people who wanted Crispin Glover as the Joker.

    That would have been terrible.

Just wait till it's a hit. And then Affleck signs on for 3 more movies, all directed by Snyder and written by Goyer.
