I'm certainly intrigued, I haven't seen Fury yet but I really liked End of Watch. Did you?
    I did, until [
] Minor quibble, though. I think hes an interesting director, even if inconsistent. Letting him tackle a comic book seems like a fun (albeit risky) idea.

I really have no problem with Leto as the Joker. Sounds like inspired casting to me.

    Leto's a great choice.

    Hopefully it's not Ayer Sabotage.

Hard to imagine this but Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I like it. The alternate rumoured choice was Cara Delevigne, who probably couldn't look more physically like the character, but I have no real sense of her acting ability and range since she mostly comes from modelling.

Robbie looks comparatively perfect for it and can do some menacing version of her Wolf of Wall Street voice and fit the role really well. I can easily see them having her more like Quinn's Arkham City look too, where she's not entirely covered head to toe with make-up and material.

I had a discussion the other day about both actresses being up for it, and we came to thinking: Has Harley Quinn ever been portrayed in live-action?
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

Yeah, as a cameo briefly, in the Suicide Squad episode of Arrow. The actress' dialogue was dubbed by Tara Strong.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Isn't she the villain in that Birds of Prey show from a while back? (I've never seen it)

Oh shit, you are right. Totally slipped my mind. Weird because I was thinking of the show when I was typing my previous post, because that also had a dubbed performance (Mark Hamill dubbing some guy's Joker lines in the pilot).

Robbie sure is getting some top-line roles. Harley QUinn and Tarzan's Jane. Hope she's a good actress beyond Wolf.

Is this the wonder woman thread? If so, Michelle McLaren is the frontrunner to helm that.

They were looking specifically for female helmers, but yeah, I like the choice. It's just the property that sounds so incredibly stupid, although I oddly would not say that about Superman.

Really? I'd say Wonder Woman is a lot more interesting than Superman.

How is it any different than Thor? Swipe Norse Gods for Greek ones and it requires the same suspension of disbelief.

Is WW's home supposed to be an island that's on Earth, but nobody knows about it or something? That seems like a harder pill to swallow than an extradimensional realm outside of Earth.

Not only that, but they will be murdered during a battle between Scorpion and Sub-Zero. See, WB wants to cram as many profitable franchises into BvS as possible. I hear Harry Potter's also going to make an appearance.

Yeah he does, but he only gets five minutes of screen time because Godzilla steps on him during his attack on Gotham City, but then Gypsy Danger from Pacific Rim gets dropped in and begins an epic fight, causing the soldiers from Call of Duty to be called in to intervene, but to no avail because a plague of rabid, mangy ducks from Duck Hunt swarm in and murder every single one of them until Vin Diesel speeds into the movie and blows them all away with a shotgun, to this response from Ken Watanabe as he observes all the chaos: "Let them fight."

It's cloaked by a mystical barrier blessed by the gods. I don't think that's any harder to swallow than, I dunno, Hogwarts.
