I figured that Trench thing would get dropped, but I wanted to see Ava's New Gods.
Good news about Cavill! I hadn't heard that.

New large trailer dropped for some reason?

Its not a red band trailer, different cut, little more footage. Plus a crappy version was leaked on line.

Reports that Robert Pattinson is unhappy that the Snyder Cut renewed interest in Affleck as Batman, and he is also unhappy about Keaton returning to the role.
Apparently he said he is worried that audiences will confuse them all.
But between this and the multiple reports of him being diva-ish on the set and clashing with Matt Reeves, it's starting to seem like he's being pretty difficult about this role.
I also worry about the future of Reeves' planned trilogy, after he unofficially said (ie, was rumored by multiple sources) last year that he never wants to work with Pattinson again.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Fine. Recast Pattinson if hes a pain in the ass. One of my most hated things in cinema is that one actor has to play the role. Change Batman every movie, I don't give a shit. The idea that no one could top Nickelson's Joker was bullshit. The idea that no one else can play Tony Stark is nonsense. Let lots of actors have roles, thats like, that point of acting. Different interpretations are what make acting such an interesting art from to me. Some work, some don't.
Edit: None of that was pointed at you meg, just venting about audiences lol

I'm right there with you, Skitch.
I think it would be a crazy shame for Reeves to abandon the whole planned story because he and Pattinson don't get along.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Yeah but forcing an actor whos a pain on a director sounds like a perfectly stupid WB move. I don't know anything about Pattinson really...maybe this is all rumorsQuoting megladon8 (view post)
I hope so.Quoting Skitch (view post)
I remember last summer when The Batman was only back filming for like 2 weeks and then had to shut down again because apparently Pattinson got COVID. Multiple online publications were unofficially saying that the production was actually put on pause to try to sort out some of the animosity between Pattinson and Reeves.
That's when Reeves allegedly said he was not interested in doing parts 2 and 3 of the trilogy as long as Pattinson was still involved.
Like you, I really hope this all ends up having been BS and rumors.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

If it's true, not a good move by Reeves to open his mouth at all.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

Again, I'm hoping this is all just utter BS rumors. I've just read the same stuff in several places now which is usually a sign there's at least some truth behind it.

The thing i find most questionable about this story is that r-patz is pissy about Keaton coming back? For flashpoint? A multidimensional story? Like, wtf, its meant to have multiple batmEn. I can believe an actor being a diva about last batman (affleck) coming back, but the Keaton bit makes me question the whole clickbaityness of it.
Either hes insane petty or doesn't understand the story.

Why? If Pattinson is a shitheel, why not say so? Shouldn't people speak out if coworkers are assholes? [Again, I know nothing of this sitch or r-pats personality]Quoting Idioteque Stalker (view post)
There's a difference between reporting bad behavior to HR vs. hosting a tell-all during production. Even Quincy Jones waited fifty years to reveal The Beatles were "the worst musicians in the world." So I object to it in principle. But furthermore there are tangible financial repercussions that could arise from bad publicity. And then personally I feel that a fully competent director should be able to handle unwieldy stars behind the scenes rather than whine about it to the public. So, if this is true, from my perspective it reflects poorly on Reeves, not Pattinson. (I like Reeves' movies btw.)Quoting Skitch (view post)

Yes, I can totally see that IS.
This isn't a case of Pattinson being accused of predatory behavior, violence, harassment, etc. If it was something like that, then sure absolutely let people know. I think behavior like that is never going to go away until the abusers know that they WILL be outed and punished.
But if it's just "man, Pattinson is kind of a diva and hard to get along with" then that should be something Reeves should be able to deal with.
I manage a dollar store and I have to constantly deal with difficult people on either sides of the counter. Conflicting personalities, workplace drama (due to it being in a small town, so everyone knows everyone's business).
I vent to other managers, but I'm not going to ever publicly declare "so and so on my staff is a real twat."
Now all this being said, two of the publications I saw repeating on this yesterday, are today posting articles saying Pattinson has signed like an 8 movie deal with WB because they're so happy with the movie and his performance.
So...whatever.

Snyder's original title for BvS was "Son of Sun and Knight of Night".
Cringe of Cringe.

The search is on for both a black director and black star for a new Superman movie.
My vote goes to Michael B. Jordan for both.

"He isn't interested in big movies."

A Spike Lee Superman movie would be the worst thing ever.

I haven't seen anything in his filmography that makes me think he could do an action film, let alone a superhero one.
Oldboy was painfully, embarrassingly awful.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I haven't seen the Oldboy remake and probably never will. It's true that he hasn't really directed action to my knowledge. But hell, given a weird enough plot, I'd watch it.
I think I remember him saying something along the lines of "if someone hires me, I'd do a superhero film".
