Really, I'd like to think the best of you, but it seems to me you're just tweaking with reality to win this point which is largely unimportant to the overall discussion. The Alien stuff is just pre-production script development and, in the US market, once a writer delivers his final draft he's usually out of the picture.

Let's recap: Producer interference can help or harm a project. No, the producers on "Aliens" didn't request those changes. Yes, of course I know Hill was a producer but we were talking about studio interference, an apparently narrowly defined term, and literally nothing else.

By "for over a year now" you seem to refer to that specific GoT thread (even though there are others before than, most of the time deleted posts I think), so I'm surprised you still deflected the way in this post, since that is actually just one edit, and then more a whole bunch of deleted posts that link from that. But it's quite an edit, since after everyone said about you jumping in at Season 7, you linked to Season 6 thread to contradict it. It's edited out in your post above mine now (but still saved in my reply quoting it) since you seemed to belatedly realize that a) it's a discussion of one article you brought up and not actually anything about you watching the show and/or b) it links to a page where many replied to your posts but you have already deleted.

Look, I don't think what I'm saying is as complicated as you make it out to be. Producer interference over a movie is the subject at hand and it's implied that it goes contrary to the desires of the filmmakers - that's the entire point of a director's cut. The examples you provided about Alien are not the case. Whether the changes came from the producers or not, they took place while the script was being developed and before the director came on board. None of them seem to have gone against Scott's wishes, or even O'Bannon's for the most part - whatever ambivalence he had about the Ash subplot he seems to have gotten over it.

And I understand where Peng is coming from perfectly. There's been a mean-spirited, venomous streak about your posts and it has been like that for a long time.
