This character doesn't appeal to me at all. Trailer fails to excite.
What about her doesn’t appeal to you? I’m honestly curious, because I can’t recall anyone else expressing their dislike for Gal Gadot’s take on the character, so just wondering why that might be?

The character is earnest and emotionally present, while still being strong, idealistic, principled and decent.

In times like these especially, I can't see how that's not appealing.

These are generic signifiers when it comes to superheroes. You could just easily be describing Captain America or Superman.

Wonder Woman's place in pop culture has always felt weirdly vestigial. She remains in print, afaik, solely so that her copyright doesn't revert away from Warners and DC. She's been retconned to death, which weakens her narrative weight. She's been co-opted (twice now!) by real world political movements, because for some reason people still believe watching a TV show or buying a movie ticket makes the world a better place. She doesn't serve a purpose in crossovers outside of being "the girl" (or worse, a romantic interest for Clark or Bruce).

I'm kinda making a half hearted argument here, because I do like the character and I like the actresses who have played her.

But, really, who needs her? Especially when all shes does at the movies is pantomime traditional male power fantasies.

WW1 was so bad. I don't expect WW2 to be much better.

The character lacks depth and texture for me, just one generic blast of do-goodyness. Although that's a feeling exacerbated by the entirety of the movies she's been in. Gal Gadot's take, well, she looks what? Badass? Good-looking? It's not been a very taxing part so far. Fine, most superhero perfs aren't shooting for Oscar, so perhaps she ably does what can be expected of her within the limits of that character.

Same too. I was like, didn't the setting move from World War I to the 80's, not World War II? lol

Shared by Snyder, the source of that much-gossiped-about instagram image Cavill uploaded a while ago of the black suit in closeup:

At around 5:00, Patty Jenkins mentions how this movie is apparently relying a lot less on green screen and CGI, and will be utilizing a lot more practical effects. Consider me intrigued.

Haha, yeah. I read a quote somewhere from Patty Jenkins saying that the movie has been finished for a while and that she's just making small tweaks. The original release date was November or December this year but WB moved it to summer, probably to stay away from Frozen II and Star Wars, though there was some spin saying, we think Wonder Woman is a summer-type of movie. Nothing abnormally long about the development cycle at all.
