I hate to say it, but this made me laugh.

Sorry, I know; I didn't mean to trivialize anything, of course.

That's nothing to apologize for. Hell, I'll admit that my first thought was how the Batman producers will respond to the news.

I hope Nolan doesn't take this on himself for putting him into the screwed up psyche of the Joker.

I'm surprised at how much this is upsetting me.
Me, too. I'm having a hard time digesting this. So sucky. Love(d) him.

Weird that this comes less than a week after Brad Renfro's passing away...

The speculation on Fox News is pretty horrible and presumptuous. No surprise there, I guess, but still...

Wow. R.I.P. I always liked him, it'll be oddly bittersweet to watch Dark Knight and I'm Not There now.

What a terrible, terrible tragedy. This has really shocked me, not because of his nationality (and the fact I know many people who have worked with him - hell, just last year I cut together a showreel for an actor friend who appeared on a TV series here with him), but the fact that he was rapidly becoming one of the best actors of his generation.

It saddens me to think of how his family and young daughter will cope with this, and for all the great acting work the world will now miss out on.

    Agreed.

RIP to him, and best wishes to family and friends.

EDIT: I feel like an ass for asking this, but how will they work around this in a future Batman film? I wouldn't want to be the replacement actor if they keep the character in. Imagine how powerful the scene will be if the Joker dies in TDK. Wow.

I have a feeling that Warner Bros. will not release The Dark Knight now out of respect. But that's the pessimist in me talking.

This just feels so weird. He was only 28 and one of the rising stars in Hollywood who deserved the fame.

Between this and Owen Wilson, I guess it is amazing how sheltered we are from celebrity's true personal traumas while force-fed the inane bullshit of the likes of Paris Hilton.

Hah. No way would that happen, dude. The pessimist in you should be wondering how they will spin this to their advantage.

Of course they'll release it. The Crow got released, didn't it? This will just give it some outside levity.

Yeah, companies that answer to shareholders don't walk away from hundreds of millions out of respect.

Ah, I tried to rep that post, Boner.
Wishful thinking, perhaps; but that is just another possible definition of the featherless biped.
