Surprised at your vote, TGM. This one got eviscerated by the critics.
Hemsworth is a pretty good draw but ... Man, does the entire idea of remaking this movie seem completely out of touch.
Do we have to actually see a movie to give it one star?

This was actually surprisingly pretty good. I haven't looked at any reviews for it, but I honestly don't have really much of anything bad to say about it. It was pretty enjoyable overall I felt, with a particularly big shocker near the ending.
Forget it, Brude. It's TGM.Quoting Brude (view post)

I'm tired of them raping entertaining 80s movies, but I realize that one day they'll start raping 90s movies on a regular basis too and then I'll just get depressed.

Holy Christ, why did I watch this? It gets one star for the paratrooper getting mowed down by the cop car. Aside from that, bleagh.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
This was shockingly entertaining. After the most flagrant plot-skipping training montage in the history of the 1980s, it became apparent they were self-aware of how silly the premise is. Maybe its because I always thought the original was a piece of crap, but I really enjoyed the hell outta this.
Edit: I only watched this because it became available on Netflix. I couldn't even bring myself to see it in the dollar theater.
