The first one was pretty damned scary.
The first one didn't impress me much, I actually gave this a marginally higher score because it fleshes out the mythology established by the first film in amusing ways while going some way towards justifying the found footage conceit. Well it sure got under my skin. I wouldn't say it was a brilliantly made film by any stretch, but it sure creeped me out.
This is waay better than the first. In a more is more kind of way.

The first is one of the stupider movies I have seen in recent memory. And the directors ("The Vicious Brother") are ridiculous.
I don't understand how this could be better.
Also, that whole big-gapey-mouth effect just has to go. Like, forever. It was never scary.
