    It always feels weird when someone like that dies because it feels way too soon and yet he's been so out of the mainstream consciousness that I honestly had not thought about him in a few years. So it's that one-two punch of "Oh, yeah, Weiland's great, ah shit."

    Also is it weird that I liked Velvet Revolver more than STP?

    I like STP more than Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Sound Garden.

    They were the most melodic of all the grunge bands, and they changed a lot as the went, always evolving.

    12 Bar Blues is the best album any of the grunge people ever put out. It's incredibly underrated. He was one of the only grunge guys to be really into experimenting with sound and creative production. He was also smart enough to team up with Tracy Chisholm and Daniel Lanois to produce the album.
