    I love his performances in Marty and the works of Robert Aldrich. He also seemed to have a really good personality from the interviews I've seen of him, and worked in almost everything. As acapelli said, he was Mermaid Man in Spongebob. How much more awesome can an actor get?

    Certainly less famous, but Isuzu Yamada also died a few days ago at the age of 95. She worked with Mizoguchi, Ozu, Kurosawa, Shinoda, Naruse, Inagaki, Ichikawa, Kinoshita and a number of others.
