I was reading Cannell's Wikipedia page to find out who he was when I came across this bizarre fact:

Together they had two daughters, Tawnia and Chelsea, and two sons, Cody and Derek.[9] Derek died in 1981 at age 15 when a sand castle he was building at the beach collapsed and suffocated him
    Come again?

Stuff like that happens relatively often up here during the winter.

Kids building snowforts that collapse. Or sometimes they'll build a snowfort and be inside it when the snowplow goes by and piles hundreds of pounds of snow on top of the fort.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Well, I can understand that and it's sort of scary. But the kid was 15 years old, right? How epic was this sand castle supposed to be?

    R.I.P James MacArthur

Seems like most know him from TV's Hawaii 5-0, but my favorite movie of his is the 1960 Disney adventure Swiss Family Robinson where he played Tommy Kirk's brother and John Mills son.

Wow, he always seemed old, so the fact that he was "only" 76 is surprising.

    RIP

I knew I remembered her very well from something, and now I realize it's Bertolucci's La Luna. Crazy film about incest.

Do we watch King Kong '76 in his honor?

The three films I've seen of his, all in the last two months, were all quite amazing.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’
