"The Catalyst" was still easily Linkin Park's best single they ever released:

Still a damn shame it only received a week of radio time before being pulled from the airwaves in favor of their same old same old. :\

This is hitting me harder than it should. I unironically liked Linkin Park back in the day, and while I did eventually grow up out of it, I have no shame in admitting I still listen to Hybrid Theory and Meteora. They're angst anthems to my generation of teenagers, and I love them today for their energy and good sound. I'm both nostalgic for the days of high school and sad because all these songs have a new meaning as a look inside Chester's tortured, depressed soul.

    RIP. He will be missed.
    I loved that first album.

June Foray, one of the greatest voice actors of all time and, with an eighty-year career, an absolute legend, has passed away at 99. A legacy like hers is the rarest of the rare, and her work will keep people laughing for generations to come.

Great actor. Distinct voice. That's a bit too young.

Here's an anecdote from John McTiernan:

We had to ship him home. He rappelled out of the top floor of the hotel and ended up going into a pair of tourists' room with his underpants on his head. Drunk out of his mind at three in the morning. He went down five floors on the side of the building, and swung into somebody's room. We had to send the poor bastard home. He did it in the middle of the night when his minder was fast asleep. And it wasn't malicious on his part. He was just filled with crazy energy. He wasn't trying to hurt anybody or be a burglar. He was a loose cannon, and mostly pointed it at himself.

I found the press reaction to Tobe Hooper's death very underwhelming. I know he was a Hollywood outsider, and not on the same level as George Romero (whose death got a lot of attention), but his contribution to the horror genre cannot be understated (just based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre alone). A true legend.
