Also in a rare twist in this internet age, Lee actually died on the 7th and his wife delayed the public announcement until family could be notified. In the age we live now that's almost unheard of that the general public would not be in the know so soon. I'm impressed.

Hiroshi Koizumi, from the Toho stable of actors, appeared in many Godzilla films, usually in the role of a scientist trying to save the world.

    RIP, Koizumi-Sama.
Bummer man. Also no more Christopher Lee. More links to the good old days of cinema gone.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Goddammit! One of my favorites of all time. So many brilliant scores and themes.

    Oh my god. Seriously guys...

    Wrath of Khan
    Braveheart
    Searching for Bobby Fischer
    Aliens
    Legends of the Fall
    Sneakers
    Glory

This man made music I still listen to even if I no longer bother with the film it accompanied. He was a Titan. Terrible news.

For my money, this is the best thing he ever did.

    Yes, I'm serious.

The theme to Aliens might be one of the first themes that actually gave me goosebumps to here.

Yeah, movies like Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, and Star Wars would make me hum away, and I'd never forget it.

But Aliens gave me the chills. Hearing it in other movie previews made me instantly want to see whatever movie it was... So good.

    RIP James Horner.

I don't think I could narrow it down to one (or even ten), but that is a beautiful piece and I can see why you love it. He and Danny Elfman have always been great at incorporating choral elements to their music, though I'd take Horner's work to Elfman's any day of the week.

Omar Sharif at 83. Fantastic career. Always saw him as a real life Lando.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’
