    Anne V. Coates died

I knew her best for Lawrence. I had no idea she worked on so many films.

I know it's morbid, but this thread makes me watch so many great films. Becket and Tree of Wooden Clogs were awesome.

That's awful. I know a cousin of hers. He's battling some pretty aggressive cancer himself.

This is a good short piece on how Margot Kidder's portrayal of Lois Lane directly influenced the Lois of the 1987 John Byrne reboot onwards.

And by the way, will mainstream Superman comics ever be as good as they were under Byrne? I haven't read the character in a while so if they got good again let me know.

What a damn shame. Survived so much. Had what I'd consider my dream job. Always seemed earnest and sincere, especially in the face of his mistakes. So sorry to see him go.

Bourdain is probably one of my biggest influences in my adult life. His approach to travel, cultures, food, music kept me in awe. He showed that a simple meal with friends could be just as memorable as a five-star meal, if not moreso.

If it weren't for his TV Shows and books, I don't know if I would've done some of my own travels. My solo trip through West Texas/Big Bend National Park/Ghost Town of Terlingua being one that sticks out to me.

    He will be missed.

Can't fucking believe this shit. I'm a huge fan.

Maybe he was diagnosed something terminal. Can't fathom any other explanation.

Same here. I've been watching reruns of No Reservations on PlutoTV for months.

My first thought was murdered, or diagnosed terminal. He's been so vocal on twitter supporting Asia during the whole metoo stuff, it just doesn't seem to fit that he would commit suicide. So sad.

Well, if you've read his books, he talks about down periods and depression a lot. But if you're 61 years old, you have a new love and a life so full of possibilities... I don't know. Maybe I just don't understand clinical depression.
