Yeah, damn, 61 is too young, but I had no idea she was even that old.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Very sad about Gwen Ifill. I had no idea she was sick. And she looked 15 years younger than her age.
She was one of the reasons I tuned into PBS' news hour. Very sad.

Historic day. It might signal the end of Cuba as the last line of defense or at least as we know it.

Dammit. They're not going to have any time to give away awards at the Oscars, its going to be four hours of "In Memory Of".

I had this sort of thought a while ago, but I really do think with the more time that passes that they should just do a separate In Memoriam special sometime before this year's Oscars.

To keep it Oscar-related, allow the nominees (both past and present), former winners, and just anyone else who simply wants to pay tribute (like Robin Williams for Jonathan Winters at the Emmys) to the dozens of massive figures who've passed away this year do justice to everyone. It'd keep the main Oscars telecast light and optimistic, and not to be overly pessimistic or morbid, but I doubt this sort of wave of passing will end with 2016, so it wouldn't be a bad thing to brace for making it a tradition.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

The comparison hurts Trump in the worst possible way. He's a son of privilege who buys stations of power. Whatever your opinion of his government policies, Fidel commanded a revolution to save his country from abuse an oppression. He didn't buy anything from anybody.

His Game of Thrones role was a perfect marriage of character and performer. It seems as if it was written specifically for him, although obviously it wasn't.

    He's also great in Brazil.

    Yes, he was. RIP.

I did not realize that the Brazil-Thrones alumni was now at three (what with Jim Broadbent's upcoming GoT role).
"We eventually managed to find them near Biskupin, where demonstrations of prehistoric farming are organized. These oxen couldn't be transported to anywhere else, so we had to built the entire studio around them. A scene that lasted twenty-something seconds took us a year and a half to prepare."

    Alan Thicke.

I feel like PFT and Adomian just need to stop impersonating people on Bang Bang (especially Herzog!), since this keeps happening and there is clearly a curse I shouldn't believe in but I'm definitely starting to.

Yeah I'm well aware of that. Too bad his revolution didn't steer away from oppression in its own ways.
