Lito Cruz (76), Argentinian actor. Notable for his roles in high profile literary adaptations of classics like Don Segundo Sombra, The Dream of Heroes and The Rabid Toy. He also has smaller roles in important films like A Place in the World, South and Invasion. He had his own acting school and was reportedly good friends with Robert De Niro. Honestly, I met him personally and he was a bit of an asshole.

Fernando Birri (92), documentary filmmaker famous for his series about Che Guevara and his groundbreaking short films Tire Dié and The Second Foundation of Buenos Aires. While he was from Argentina, he's even more famous in Cuba for having founded and directed the film school in Los Baños which is one of the most prestigious in the world. He's considered a key figure in South American political cinema. And honestly, Tire Dié is awesome.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Word of warning - Ketchum's shit is NOT for the faint of heart.

He crosses as many lines, maybe more, than Joe R. Lansdale does at his most deprived ("Drive In Date," etc.).

I've actually never read his books, I've just seen the adaptations (which he wrote the screenplays for himself). The Woman was, yeah, it's fucked up.

Yeah, The Woman is a great film. Criticker informs me that I've also seen Red but I can't remember anything about it.

Anyways, thanks Davis for the recs!

Yeah, the film of The Woman was very good. But it did not incentivize me to seek out more of Ketchum's work.

Holy shit. Mark Salling, 35, who was recently caught with child pornography. His sentencing was only a few weeks away, so it seems obvious that it's a suicide. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...-at-35-1080090
