Celeb (and Celeb SO's) Obit Thread

Figured we'd lump these together especially when the celeb doesn't warrant his/her own thread.

RIP to Bobby Fischer, a chess great and an, er, quirky human being.

I have much respect for Fischer as a chess great, but as a human being he held some fairly shitty views.

He was only 64. But he looked like he was well into his eighties. Poor fellow, I really think there was something deeply unbalanced about him mentally.

I really don't like it when people my parent's age die. Even though people die all the time, it gives me a vicious twinge.

    George Carlin: 1937-2008

    GEORGE CARLIN!!!

    :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

    Oh shit.

Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits

“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...and you finish off as an orgasm.”

One of my favorite Carlin quotes:

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
    R.I.P. Mr. Conductor

    This sucks.

Are you still not allowed to say "piss" on TV?

RIP George, thanks for all you gave us.

I'm really bummed he's gone (especially since he was only 71, which isn't that old anymore) but I'll still have found memories of watching him do stand up. I wish I had seen him perform live though, as that would have been awesome. He's still my all time favorite stand up comedian, even though he would on many an occasion bash my religion and everything it stood for. RIP man.

    Decent article about Carlin:

And the pic of him that was a cover for one of his stand up albums are the only parts of that post that are mine.

However Spinal you deserve rep for a post that's utterly hilarious. It also freaked me out since for a moment there I thought I had written everything there and then I had forgotten about it. Made me wonder if I was going crazy or something. Damn mods, tinkering with my posts, taking threads away....*waves cane angerily* I'm taking this to the UN! And, um....I'm gonna tell Raiders! Yeah!

I was actually trying to take the posts out of here and put them into the thread you created so that they would all be together.

It did not go as planned.

Ah, I see. The experiement clearly died withering and screaming on the table, and blood is all over the place. The janitor isn't going to be pleased.

Sad to see Carlin go. I never really followed his work, but I always felt that I should have, and loved whatever I came across.

I like Carlin's early work, but he got too angry later on.
