Isabel "la Coca" Sarli, erotic actress and national treasure who starred in more than a dozen "sexploitation" films directed by her husband Armando Bó, starting with Thunder Between the Leaves and peaking with Fire and Flesh. Later in life, these films gained cult status as camp artifacts, thanks in part to the relentless championing of John Waters, which also made her a bit of a LGTB icon. Sarli was always proud of her films and often attended retrospectives and collaborated with documentaries and restoration work. She refused to work in English for ideological reasons, turning down bit parts in Guns of the Navarone and The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll. Their son Victor Bo is a retired actor and their grandson Armando Bo Jr. a very interesting writer/director on his own right.

In my defense, a local newspaper posted the same photographs. I don't have to be better than proper journalism.

Wow, huge loss. The man was a bassa nova titan, second only to Antonio Carlos Jobim in my eyes.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I think I might toast him off tonight by drinking a glass of my own urine.
