    The Burial (Malick)

Set over a period of years, the film stars Affleck as Neil, a failed writer stuck in a loveless marriage with Marina (Kurylenko), whose expiring visa put pressure on Neil to propose. Neil and Marina have a daughter (Tatiana Chilin) together, but both of them are looking outside the marriage. Neil is drawn to Jane (McAdams) and Marina betrays her husband by having an affair with Charlie (Charles Baker).

Both Neil and Marina seek guidance from Father Quintana (Bardem), a priest frustrated by his inability to live his own life because he’s too busy advising his parishioners on theirs. The couple’s dysfunctional relationship begins to take a toll on their daughter, who starts having problems in school.
Synopsis seems a tad spoiler-y, but I don't know. Anyway, Malick has finished shooting and it's now in post-production, meaning we'll probably see it in 2014.

Have to admit that sounds significantly less interesting than Tree of Life.

I'm just amused that we have a Terrence Malick film starring Ben Affleck and Olga Kurylenko.

I'm more amused that Terrence Malick apparently wears the same style of hat as Toby Keith.

An image search of "Burial" and "Malick" has yielded a surprising return.

    []

Apparently Malick is using a reverse Eddie Murphy technique for makeup.

PS: I love the look on the two kids' faces.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I want to touch that wheat. But only in a slow stride with my arms extended. And only during the magic hour of twilight. Because that is what it is to be human.

To the Wonder (Terrence Malick, 2012)

Thought we had a thread on this already? I can just find Boner's upcoming Terrence Malick films thread.

Hard to believe that this will be out this year. There's no official release date yet, but it premieres at TIFF. I don't know why they would delay it to next year, but it's Malick.

Malick is busy at the editing room and has apparently cut out Rachel Weisz, Barry Pepper, Martin Sheen, and Amanda Peet's performances out of the final cut. That's not so notorious of Malick to do since he did the same with a large number of actors in The Thin Red Line.

Now there is a whole plot synopsis available online that is super-spoilerly.

I'm just waiting for a trailer or another image besides Affleck and McAdams embracing by wheat.

Maybe Bialas can confirm this, but when doing press for Argo at Telluride, Ben Affleck said that "To the Wonder makes The Tree of Life look like Transformers."

The film premieres this weekend in Venice, actually. Probably won't be able to see it at TIFF, unfortunately. I think I'm working the days it plays.

Also, that's twice now Sheen has been exiled from a Malick film.
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

You should go up to them at a resort town restaurant in a muscle shirt and tell Malick to his face, "Nobody puts Weiszy in a corner."

I'm still trying to repair myself from how I watch Malick. Spoilered because even reading it makes me angry.

To The Wonder sounds like it will do just that. The soundtrack already intrigues me. Can't wait!

How do you need to 'repair yourself' from the superficial opinions of an insecure asshole? You can find his sentiments all over the internet, anyway.

I get it. It's like when Walter Chaw saw Synocdoche, NY at Cannes and was so affected by it, he had to get away from his other critic colleagues who were trashing on it, and be alone for awhile.
