Love your collage art, KJ. Really nice. I especially like the 3rd one down. I might be bothering you for an album cover in the near future.
And speaking of album covers, I remember wanting to use one of your paintings, Isaac. I like your stuff as well.

I'm super delighted at the responses. Some seriously cool work being posted.
Here's the first panel of a comic page I illustrated. [/taken with phone camera] The idea is that Grant Morrison is a Jack Kirby character. I'll post the whole page somewhere down the line.
I used to write and draw my own comics when I was 9 years old, and still think about doing it in the back of my head to this day.
And I would post my portfolio of the student films I made in college...but I grow less proud of them every day.

Back before we had teh Interwebz, I designed a Flaming Carrot* (remember him?) envelope that worked quite well for old-timey snail mail (please don't make fun of me ):

"We eventually managed to find them near Biskupin, where demonstrations of prehistoric farming are organized. These oxen couldn't be transported to anywhere else, so we had to built the entire studio around them. A scene that lasted twenty-something seconds took us a year and a half to prepare."
My album art for LWH's - CIA TV album is now out, see it here -> http://lwhmusic.bandcamp.com/
I am also doing an entire series of videos for every song on the album, it will basically be a little concept film or what have you.

So the film festival my screenplay's in told me that I'm allowed to make posters for my screenplay. No idea why, but the exposure could be cool. I made a normal one, but then I got ambitious and made a nod to Metropolis:

I've had my hands full helping direct / manage a local production of Geoffrey's Nauftt's Next Fall here in Tallahassee.
I auditioned for it, but when the dust cleared, although by all accounts I read every part well (a claim I had trouble believing was genuine until I started hearing it from third parties), I just didn't fit any of the roles, but the director liked me so much she asked me to crew.
I've never worked on this side of a production before and its crazy intense. Getting the set changes timed and down, especially when we're in a small house (the room we're in makes a blackbox theatre look like Wembley Stadium) takes a type of obsessive precision I've never dealt with before. Opening night is Friday.
On an acting note, I've been asked to audition (by my Next Fall director) for Babes in Toyland at the beginning of October, and my director from Much Ado About Nothing wants me to read for Sir Toby at the Twelfth Night auditions near the end of October, so I have to worry about something else I've never had to worry about before - prioritizing auditions.
It's nice to feel wanted.
On a side note, I've actually started dating one of the cast members of Next Fall. Who saw that coming? I certainly didn't
I saw a production of this years ago with a Sir Toby that looked like you, actually. It will work.Quoting Fezzik (view post)
Congrats all around.
I've looked at some Sir Toby clips from performances on You Tube and have read through the play again and I think I can nail this part.Quoting Sven (view post)
I'm still torn though. Babes in Toyland is a musical. I've never done one before.
Tough decision coming up here soon.
Damn. The magazine I've been writing for for nearly two years has completely closed down.
Just got back from MorrisonCon in Vegas, which was insanely awesome (minus the comparatively brief but seemingly interminable Max Landis episode). I made this comics page as an appreciation and got to hand it to him. "Brilliant! Will you sign it for me?" the man says.
You guys are so talented... (faint)
I do some digital painting. Here's the last thing I spent any time on.
Sven, that is GLORIOUS.
It makes me wanna see a longer form work from you.
Ouch. That blows.Quoting Skitch (view post)
You gonna pursue a similar gig?
I'll keep my ears open, but its kinda nice not having the wee bit of pressure of a deadline. I'll use the free time to finish and redouble my efforts on a graphic novel Dave and I started.Quoting Sycophant (view post)
