    Match-Cut's Creative Collective

Recently I've been feeling the juice, so I've decided to create a thread where we can share with each other our creative endeavors. I know there are filmmakers, musicians, graphic designers, writers, cooks, actors, illustrators/doodlers, and otherwise creative people that post here and I (and I'm sure others) would love to see more of your stuff. In-progress work and process info are also suitable for this thread, should anyone wanna share.

Please, let's use this space as a vessel to contain the fruits of our artistic loins.

To kickstart the thread, here's the first comic I ever drew with ink. Based on a true story:

Cool comic! Reminds me of Mobius in the line work on the face.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Here's the first episode of a comic I write and my buddy draws and colors. I'll post more if anyone is interested, we're up to eight episodes.

Cute! Do you just publish it online?

Here's the most recent game I've made, put together last Tuesday night. It's called Shellmar's Shellulous Journey and is a one-level mascot platformer with a shield mechanic, vaguely in the aesthetic style of pre-NES console games.

Admittedly, the hit detection would have been tweaked if I hadn't spent just 3 hours on it starting at 12am. I'm pretty satisfied with it, though.

It is your games that are the closest thing to convincing me to prioritize the acquisition of a PC.

Its for a music magazine called Alternative Revolt. The mag has been transitioning from online only to both online and print.

This one is from the last issue...

Interesting that you post this thread. I actually just released a book on amazon yesterday, but I always get extremely self-conscious whenever I try to make a post to promote these kinds of things on forums like this, so I resorted to just leaving a link in my sig. But anyways, I've been writing and revising this book for the past few years, and decided that it was finally done, so I went ahead and released it.

In the Country of Widows, the military organization known as the Devil Corps has waged a secret war against its own people. Only one cat, the Ninja Kat, is aware of this evil scheme, and has sworn to stop this war before it's too late.

The Ninja Kat has been ambushing the Devil Corps and foiling their plots, certain that he's been making a difference. But it isn't until he meets a group of escaped hamsters that he learns how little he has accomplished: the Devil Corps have destroyed the hamsters' village and taken the survivors as prisoners, all under the Ninja Kat's unsuspecting nose. And when the Ninja Kat attempts to rescue those survivors, even he is shocked by what he discovers inside the Devils' lair.

Velcro: The Ninja Kat is an action packed tale that explores the tragic history of this strange new world populated by animals, as well as the mysterious past of the Ninja Kat himself. In the secret war, unlikely alliances will be made. Families will be torn apart, and others reunited in the worst of ways. And in the end, a magical secret even greater than the war itself will be revealed for the first time in generations.

Check it out if you would, and let me know what you think: http://www.velcrotheninjakat.com/

(Also, sucks that Irish left the boards. He complimented my writing on my short film I posted a while back, so I'd like to get his insight on this. :/)

    Aw, thanks!

I didn't know that was your very first ink comic, by the way. I've really been impressed by it ever since I first saw it.

Nicely done, Skitch. Do you have a website for it?

And that's awesome, TGM. Looks like a serious achievement.

Unfortunately no, they are in the issues. But I will post them here. We hope to put out a book of them all eventually, once we have a substantial number of them. We've also been working on a graphic novel for a while now. If I would just finish the damn thing he could start drawing it.

I'm doing POD, though I released an e-book version, too. (That was a pain in the ass!)

The paperback version, though it's also more expensive.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’
