    Alien: Covenant (Ridley Scott)

Fox confirms to THR that Scott and the studio actively are pushing ahead with a follow-up (stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed) and are talking to new writers because Prometheus co-scribe Damon Lindelof might not be available.
    That'll do pig.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I read 'Lindelof might not be available' and smiled.

I actually am bummed that Lindelof won't possibly be working on the sequel. And yes I'll see it in theaters.

You’ve got a person [Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw] with a head in a bag [ Michael Fassbender’s David] that functions and has an IQ of 350. It can explain to her how to put the head back on the body and she’s gonna think about that long and hard because, once the head is back on his body, he’s dangerous.

    So that’s the sequel?

[Laughs] I wish it was that easy. They’re going off to paradise but it could be the most savage, horrible place. Who are the Engineers?

They should double down on the stupid in this one and have a chemist try to grab an unknown kind of acid.

I think I'm just going to pretend that there are three awesome Alien movies, a slight misstep, and nothing else happened in the franchise after 1997.

It's not a snarky response. It's a funny, pithy retort.

You need to stop taking disagreement so personally.

I've never looked forward to a sequel more than I am looking forward to Prometheus 2. Absolutely cannot wait to see where it goes.

Prometheus left me feeling totally jazzed and excited about SF cinema, something a film hasn't done in a long time.

Quiet, Davis. We are no one. Ever. Same goes for Skitch. We are invisible non-existent people.

    Classy Madman. Real classy.
I was just repeating something many others have said before. Doesn't mean its right, but that's neither here nor there.

Also rep goes to Morris for the Predator gif. And KF, you'll find out in a couple of months, if it takes that long.

The question is if you're threatening to leave because you can't take it here anymore or you're just waiting to right your big good-bye, or if it's something else, and we should be worried about your health or something.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I've had many deep conversations with Madman about Ray Kurzweil and the Singularity. Suffice it to say, we are both eagerly and with confidence looking forward to the salvation that awaits our consciousness in software paradise.

Jon Spaihts' original script, before Lindelof joined, has been made available. There's a link in the above link.

    Nice.

Despite finding the first very disappointing and quite dumb, it's visually spectacular. I have watched it about 4 times now just for the spectacle of the thing.

I'm anxious to see what's up their sleeves for part 2.

SO I just read that the original movie had a working title of ALIEN: ENGINEERS before it was changed to Prometheus, so maybe he's just fucking with us.
