"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Looks good.
Yeah, that looks good.
Bit confused by this. I thought the character descended from Japanese. How is a Korean actor less wrong than a white one?
Quoting Grouchy (view post)
Yeah I thought that myself.
If anything "all Asians look alike" is almost...worse.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Reminder that every conversation about whitewashing has been more about opportunity than accuracy. Nobody actually gives a fuck about the source character. I read a good amount of Hellboy and I don't even know much about Daimio.

My gut agrees with the sentiment whole heartedly...but I'm a white guy. I will defer to Asians to tell me if its better or worse.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
You could have told me that was Ron Perlman and I wouldn't know the difference. Looks great.

Yeah.. I saw someone comment they could've simply changed that cringey version of the tagline to "Legendary as hell." and now it's going to bother me that they didn't.Quoting Ivan Drago (view post)
Very sweet poster though.

Hmm. Okay.
Definitely doesn't have that Del Toro flare....
Agreed. Marshall's not a bad director, but he's more anonymous as an artist.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
If it's job was to make me realize how long it's been since I've seen Del Toro's films and want to revisit them even more then mission accomplished!
Otherwise it's just a more confusing trailer than anything. I guess in a few months we'll get a better sense as to what the real tone and content of the film is, since I think Marshall said he was going for out-right horror and that trailers basically seems to be going for Deadpool-lite.

It feels to me like it’s really trying to ape the humor of the second movie.
Which sucks, because the humor fell flat like 99% of the time in part 2. It was its biggest flaw.

I just tried reading some Hellboy comics with Mony Mony playing on the headphones. Didn't work there either.
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
Yeah, all that talk about this one being more of a Horror movie apparently didn't make the cutting room.
Officially Rated R.
Posting that because Venom was originally going to be R and they scrapped that idea after announcing it.
Hellboy Redband trailer - a LOT better than the last one.

Fix the CGI blood and you got yourself a purchased ticket.
I've come to think this doesn't mean anything and that studios occasionally use it as a marketing ploy because they know fans will read into it.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I mean, you can get an "R" rating for using the word "fuck" multiple times and making a passing reference to weed.
It doesn't tell you anything the way the movie will play, or what sort of content it has.
ETA: The trailer looks okay. I like the guy playing Hellboy a little more, but still he's no Perlman. Little tired of apocalyptic plots and grasps at Big Important Stakes. Whats-her-name is a terrible actress and is an obvious weakness in whatever this movie hopes to be.
