I think the best comics writer working today is Chester Brown.
outside the main stream i don't know if anyone is better than Daniel Clowes or Chris Ware. i like Joe Matt and Seth along with Chester as well.

Preacher is a little overwhelming at first, but once you fall into the groove there's nothing like it.

I'm slowly becoming "into comics." I'm reading the first collection of Fables right now and am really excited about picking up the second issue of The Sword tonight.

I'm thinking I need at least another book or two to collect.

That's how I started out just a few months ago. Just Fables and Y. Look at me now, hehe.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

This is both appealing and disturbing. I'll have to think this over.

Stupid library system only had the first trade so I gave it up after that, but it was fascinating stuff.

I carefully read my 30 Days of Night again today. I still love it, but it's a bother to have to be so careful with the pages.

You should probably wait, since all volumes are connected.
Get the first one and see if you like it, the rest is more of the same. (It's all very fun/funny stuff).

So, Guy Delisle, who did the graphic memoir Pyongyang (which I loved) apparently has a new, similar tale out called Shenzhen. Anyone checked it out yet?

  20. #70
I checked out three Will Eisner books from the library today:

    A Contract With God
To the Heart of the Storm
    The Name of the Game

A Contract With God is the first book to ever be called a "graphic novel".
