What are your most anticipated films of 2008?

After doing a little research, I have a list of 20. Some are 2007 films that will likely get to my area in 2008. At least a couple are films that will only arrive in 2008 through the help of a small miracle.

    1. Antichrist (Trier)
    2. Nightwatching (Greenaway)
    3. Burn After Reading (Coens)
    4. Leatherheads (Clooney)
    5. Stop-Loss (Peirce)
    6. Mammoth (Moodysson)
    7. Funny Games (Haneke)
    8. S.O.P.: Standard Operating Procedure (Morris)
    9. Zonad (Carney)
    10. Blindness (Meirelles)
    11. Repo! The Genetic Opera! (Bousman)
    12. Une vieille maîtresse (Breillat)
    13. Encounters at the End of the World (Herzog)
    14. Breath (Kim)
    15. WALL*E (Pixar)
    16. Where the Wild Things Are (Jonze)
    17. Life During Wartime (Solondz)
    18. Bright Star (Campion)
    19. The H-Man Cometh (Russell)
    20. The International (Tykwer)

    And you?

not sure what's even on the docket, but I think there's a Batman film that will be worth catching. Isn't there another Narnia movie in production? I think Harry Potter 6 is out next year too. I'll say those.

I Come With The Rain (Tran Anh Hung)
    Mei Lanfang (Chen Kaige)
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

I really should start paying attention to what will be coming out a few months in advance, but since I don't tend to watch too many movies in theaters I find it hard to get pumped for something that I might not see until 2009. I'm only now paying attention to what's coming out as Oscar-bait this year.

same here... aside from the occasional outing, mostly for blockbusters, I don't watch much at all until it's been on DVD for a while, or more likely, being shown on a free preview weekend of Random Film Channels.

But what Asian films are looking forward to?

Do you know anything about the Chow film? This is the first I've heard of it, but I'll definitely keep it on my radar.

The Chow film... no one really knows exactly what it's about. Here's some stills. Apparently, there's poverty, a young boy, aliens, alien technology, an alien teacher, or something like that. Trying to get accurate news from sites trying to round up the stuff that appears in Chinese gossip rags can be a chore.

Pretty much the only film I'm anxious about at the moment is The Lovely Bones. I'm very anxious to see how Peter Jackson does with his first non-epic fantasy film in years.
The Act of Killing (Oppenheimer 13) - A
Stranger by the Lake (Giraudie 12) - B
    American Hustle (Russell 13) - C+
The Wolf of Wall Street (Scorsese 13) - C+
    Passion (De Palma 12) - B

I think I'm going to stop anticipating movies months in advance. My favorite movies always end up being something I've never heard of.

Yeah, I agree. The reason I start these threads is because I like to see the difference between what people think will be good and what actually turns out to be good.
