I'll predict one gets pushed back. Probably Aladdin.Quoting TGM (view post)

Of the three of them, I agree. The question is where to bump it to?Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Between their live action slate, Disney Animation (Don't forget Frozen 2 in November!), Lucasfilm (Episode IX at Christmas), and Pixar, they dominate so much of the slate and major release months that the only situation I see is them pushing it back a whole year to May 2020 in the slot previous assumed to be Guardians Vol. 3's.
Which would be kind of crazy considering filming on Aladdin began in late 2017.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:
Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
Diva (Beineix, 1981)
Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)
Love the aspect ratio here
Still ambivalent about Marshall as a director (in which the trailer does nothing to dissuade) but Emily Blunt, unsurprisingly, looks so note-perfect that I hope this turns out good.
Midnight Run (1988) - 9
The Smiling Lieutenant (1931) - 8.5
The Adventures of Robinhood (1938) - 8
Sisters (1973) - 6.5
Shin Godzilla (2016) - 7.5
Oh jeez, I didn't realize it was him doing this. Well my expectations just plummeted.Quoting Peng (view post)
Little upset that Angela Lansbury didn't merit a mention in that cast run-through.

That was my takeaway as well.Quoting Wryan (view post)
They can stop with this live action remake crap any time now...
Never mind.

To quote Bo Burnham:
They know it's not right.
They know it's not funny.
But they'll stop beating the dead horse
when it stops spitting out money.
But until then,
they'll just repeat stuff.
Can’t blame them at all. Just giving the market what it wants. Dreck like The Meg, Jurassic World, The Nun make money hand over fist, Marvel can dish out generic nothings like Black Panther and Dr. Strange and they are lapped up AND critically championed.
Even something like Venom, whose trailers have looked like shit, which has shit reviews, and which is so obviously an attempt to desperately grab a share of that sweet comic book money with nothing else motivating it has some people online STILL defending it sight unseen and claiming they are excited to see it because it looks like it just wants to be fun. I mean, be a little discerning for fucks sake.
If the public pays to see live-action remakes, it would be financially irresponsible not to service that market

I bet I'll actually see that one.
I'll be there opening night. I thought Lion King would be coming out before this though. That, I'll probably need to see multiple times.
Lion King’s coming out in July, so it’s still not too far off.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Lion King and Aladdin in the same year?
And Dumbo.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
So it's only Star Wars that Disney can't get right.
Yup. We discussed this at the top of the page, in fact.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

Lilo and Stitch is actually the one that could benefit from a remake... So many missed opportunities in the original.

Aladdin is the first of their remakes that I'm super excited about. Hell, I don't think I've watched any of the remakes yet.
