Will be converted to 3D at the express wishes of Warner Brothers. This apparently goes against the wishes of Del Toro who felt 3D was dettrimental to enjoying the gargantuan scale of the monsters.

Although a 2D version will also be offered.

Unfortunate. He was talking trash about 3D conversion at the Comic-Con panel and got applause for it.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

If ever I felt there was a project that shouldn't be 3D, this would certainly be it.

Meh. It was shot as a 2D film, so I can just watch that since they are releasing it in both formats. No real harm, just a studio unwilling to not prop up its large scale film with money-grabbing post conversion.

No harm to savvy movie-goers perhaps, but it can't be a picnic for Del Toro to have his film's aesthetic dramatically altered without consent and released to the public, even if his preferred version remains concurrently available.

What bothers me about post-converts like this is that they don't show them in IMAX 2D. I don't think this was filmed in IMAX so no biggie, but it seems like something that would still be enjoyable in that format. But I don't want to even bother if I'm gonna be forced to watch it in post-converted 3D.

That's my only real gripe with this. If it helps this be successful enough to give Del Toro more clout with studios, I'm all for it.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

God I hope that second one is not indicative of how the actual film is shot and edited.

It is GLaDOS. Same actress and everything. Del Toro put it in there because he really loves Portal.
