I'll be interested to see how it's cut without Menke around anymore.
Yes. This is going to be a huge test for QT. How much of what we love about QT's films is due to Menke?

Honestly, these trailers aren't doing much for me. I'm stoked to see it because of QT, and I typically like what he does, but I don't have that usual OMG!!! feeling. Most of this is due to Jamie Foxx. I simply cannot muster up any amount of enthusiasm for him, and his screen time in the trailers is evident of his complete lack of charisma.

It looks like the editor he has for this, Fred Raskin, worked as assistant editor on Kill Bill, Insomnia, and three PT Anderson films. He doesn't have many credits as main editor, except the last three Fast & Furious movies. Still, if he's worked with some of the best in some capacity, I think we can trust him.

On Jonah Hill, I used to really not like him, but he's begun to grow on me slightly. Hopefully he's not annoying here.

I don't get this hate for Jamie Foxx, but I'll admit that I like the actor due to only having seen Collateral, Bait (which was not good but he was solid in that film) and Ray. He was excellent in Collateral, and pretty great in Ray. Sure he's going to be the main character in this film, but based on the trailers it seems that Leo and Waltz steal the show.

Yeah, Tarantino always goes over schedule (and budget). I believe Basterds was the first time he wrapped on time (still a 3 month shoot), because he had to meet the Cannes deadline.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I'd love to steal his trash cans filled with unused footage.

So what the hell is this Sukiyaki Western Django? IS this what inspired QT?

I know there's mention of this on the first page... anyway, it's streaming on netflix and the opening scene is interesting.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I doubt it. I imagine he was more inspired by the spaghetti western named Django, among others by Corbucci and possibly Leone. His film doesn't really seem to resemble Miike's film that much.

Both he and Miike are fans of the original Django, hence why Miike asked him to appear in his film. That's about it.

I predict this movie is going to piss a lot of people off. That's another reason why I'm going to love it. [

I was just gonna say that Jonnha Hill cameo looks totally out of place.

    DiCaprio for ALL the awards.
    Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

Still jarring to see DiCaprio not be the most serious actor on the screen, but I dig it.

Man, Japan isn't getting this till March. I was hoping it'd be one of the shorter release gaps.

I'm not that impressed, but then it's just silly to calibrate expectations for a Tarantino film on the basis of a trailer.

How about Tarantino, the cast, etc. Those are worthier sources of anticipation than a marketing tool.

How many movies have featured good or even great casts that turned out to be shitty? And I like seeing new footage, which actually does convince me if the movie is worth seeing or not.
