Don't know if I see an alien there. Looks like general Giger-ness.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Also: A description on Youtube, that accompanied the new trailer:

In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

'Alien' is truly one of the greatest movies of all time and I say that as someone who has grown very tired of Ridley Scott's bullshit. It is mandatory viewing.

Yeah, not sure what you're doing watching other movies when you could be watching Alien.

Haven't seen a Ridley Scott film since Matchstick Men but looking forward to this.

Yeah, yeah. I'll get to it.

I've never seen the Swedish Dragon Tattoo movies, but I'm developing a crush on Noomi Rapace on these trailers alone.

Has Scott made more bad films than any other legitimate director?

I don't know, I think largely he just stumbles into mediocrity with problematic screenplays. I think he's remained a good director in terms of visual flow and direction of actors. But his best works were in sci fi and this upcoming one is looking like it may fall into the same ball park. I just wish he had made more sci fis.

His brother is considered legitimate now, isn't he? So, him.

Yeah, I'll be there on opening weekend too. The trailers get me more excited for this film, whereas they typically make me less interested.
    The Boat People - 9
The Power of the Dog - 7.5
The King of Pigs - 7

It kinda sucks that I read a possible leaked synopsis of the film last July that now appears to have been completely accurate. Oh well, looks like it'll make a badass film.

I don't understand why international trailers are almost always considerably better than US trailers.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

That may be true, but as per this example, I don't understand why you feel it is considerably better. "Considerably" being the operative word here. Is it because of some extra footage? Better music?

The pacing is definitely way better. It actually builds a moody sense of discovery and mystery and horror instead of just jumping into the effects-heavy shots immediately and giving you quick important-sounding technobabbles.
