Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (Lorene Scafaria)

This film is going to live or die by its tone. Can't be sure what said tone is by this trailer, as they can be misleading. I was not a fan of Scarfaria's other screenplay, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, but the cast alone is enough to get my ass in the theater. It's odd but refreshing to see Keira Knightley in something that isn't a period piece.

I think it looks cloying and annoying much like Steve Carrell's last romantic comedy.

I'm getting tired of him doing the same quirky dramedy over and over.
Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

I think this looks interesting, though I'm not a big fan of Keira Knightley...

Yeah, aside from Carell and Knightley (though I do like them both), I saw Rob Huebel, Connie Britton, Rob Corddry, Melanie Lynsky, Patton Oswalt, TJ Miller and Gillian Jacobs in there. So even they're all only in a scene each, that's still enough scenes featuring people I really enjoy to make it worth watching anyway. I agree about the tone, and the trailer feels oddly run of the mill despite its premise, which comes off as being more of a marketing campaign's idea of how to sell it compared to how the actual film will approach it. I remain hopeful.

Didn't mind Nick & Norah either. Not the greatest "running around the city", all-in-one-night type of movie (there's even better New York ones), but probably the most recent example of one I remember liking.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
Diva (Beineix, 1981)
Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

You're going to be $1000 dollars short.

Trailer looks like indiewood crap, but who knows? Doubt I'll see it unless it gets some great reviews. I also think I like Keira Knightley the person more than Keira Knightley the actress. Everytime I see her on Charlie Rose my heart melts.

I agree with Watashi and Pop Trash, but I'll still rent it unless it gets trashed by the Tomatometer.
