Looks like I need to check out Blue Valentine before voting.

And some other stuff. But especially that.

    Random stuff:

-Carlos could've had a half-Black Swan/Inception showing. It nearly made the cut in Screenplay, Editing, Directing, and Costumes (?)

-Everyone Else also just missed the cut on Picture, Director, and Actor. A Prophet and Mother also had good showings in several categories.

-Despite killing it in the tech categories, Tron didn't have one Best Picture vote.

-Greta Gerwig split herself in votes. I made the executive decision to put her in Supporting Actress, otherwise she wouldn't have made it in either one.

-I think Exit Through the Gift Shop may be the first documentary to make it to the Best Picture stage for Match Cut.

-The lovers of The Illusionist pulled through on the final two days.

-Social Network also had a quick kick in the final two days, barely making it into Director, Ensemble, and nearly making it to several other categories.

-Scott Pilgrim also killed it, but didn't have much support in the Best Picture.

-Four other actresses were lined up in Best Actress for sixth place. A last minute vote for Hailee kicked her up. The Dogtooth actress also split herself, but didn't make the cut even if you combined her votes.

-I almost thought of cutting Best Song completely, but the last two days of voting got a few songs more then two votes.

-Legend of the Guardians nearly made it in over The Illusionist.

-Enter the Void seemed to have 3-4 votes in every single category.

Hey E, unless there's a problem, can I submit another vote before the due date? I ask because I just found out Blue Valentine is coming to my town this weekend and afraid I'll regret the votes I just PM'd to you after I see it.

I actually don't have a ton of catching up to do.

    Sweetgrass
    Carlos
    A Prophet
    Mother
    Blue Valentine
    Greenberg

Doubt I will watch Ghost Writer and definitely not watching Harry Potter.

Chloe Moretz was also somewhat close to a double nomination for Let Me In and Kick-Ass.

Let Me In had a rush of votes this past weekend. The DVD has really kicked in. Sadly it got 0 noms.

Not to gang up on Black Swan, but I've been wondering the same thing but about Mila Kunis. Oh, she goes from nice girl to mean girl, what a dual performance!

She was fine, of course, and added an integral dramatic component to the film - I loved her/her character in the film. But I'm just saying... after all the awards recognition she got, I thought it was perfectly rational she didn't get an Oscar nod.

Yeah, another reason I encourage everyone to listen to the scores again. Although it's hard to judge. Do you vote based on how it works within the movie or on its own? It's definitely the least interesting on its own. I need to see the movie again to see how it works within the movie.

Still doubt it even gets close to what Reznor or Desplat did, and I'm a huge Black Swan supporter.

I actually loved her character and her performance as well, and hell, I may even agree with you and Spinal (notice I didn't nominate anyone from Black Swan...), but am I wrong to say she's not asked to stretch her range much? Nor does she have much screen time, like Hershey. Or maybe I need to re-watch the film.

At least Hershey has big crying scenes. Anyone who knows acting care to argue that crying scenes/scenes of duress aren't the way to rank a performance?
