    Tarsem Singh's Snow White

    http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=71319

Tarsem Singh (The Fall, The Cell) has signed a deal to direct the Snow White movie in development at Relativity Media.

This live-action film is expected to be an "edgy" and comedic look at the original Brothers Grimm story. Scripted by Melisa Wallack, the film starts with the evil stepmother killing Snow White's father and destroying the kingdom. Snow White must then band together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightly hers.

A March start is being eyed for the production. Singh just wrapped The Immortals, coming to theaters next November.

Relativity's Snow White movie is in direct competition with Universal Pictures' Snow White and the Huntsman and Disney's Snow and the Seven.

I would like to see this become the little people version of The Expendables.

Dinklage. Troyer. Deep Roy. Wee Man. The Willow guy. The Twin Peaks guy. And .... I dunno ... Wallace Shawn as Doc.

"...and Disney's Snow and the Seven."

I don't even know what this is, but goddamit Disney...

    I followed the link.

Live-action East-meets-West take on the "Snow White" fairy tale with the fantasy adventure centering on a British girl being raised in 19th century Hong Kong. When she realizes her destiny is to conquer an evil force, she must prepare to fight by being trained by seven Shaolin monks.
There's no way it can fail.

After The Fall, I'd see anything Singh does next.

He pretty much has a lifetime free pass.

Can't wait for his next one with the Greek Gods. Essentially sounds like God of War without having the title.

Hoping this deal bodes well for what's been seen of principal photography on The Immortals considering the timing.

I'm not a fan of 2-hour perfume commercials, so I'm hoping this film turns out to be more than just window dressing.

I'm hoping this film is the complete exact opposite of what Derek wants.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Previously you said you don't want this to be like The Fall.

    Stop contradicting yourself.

True, pure cinema will only go so far as a handy-j. You want more, you need impure cinema to step in.

Tarsem is what Tarsem is. It will be visually captivating and go off the rails completely once humans start talking.
