Nicely done. Shows off cool action shots, not too spoilery, but more importantly, sells the tone.

Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
The tone being all serious, "we're under attack yada yada" with a little bit of banter thrown in for good measure? That's not a tough sell as this looks very similar to every other superhero movie that's come out, but I'm asking because you know more about comics than I do.Quoting number8 (view post)

What man? I still don't think it's that big of a deal to make people understand this will be darker, more serious than the last one. It's par for the course these days. Star Trek Into Darkness, Thor: The Dark World etc...Quoting Watashi (view post)

Bullshit. Don't we all have expectations? Preferences? Fears? Hopes? Concerning all the movies coming out?Quoting Watashi (view post)
This is what Sxottlan posted concerning Anchorman 2. He doesn't use the word "predict", but is that any different from what I said?
You're so evil Sxottlan. Just vile man.

I like the shot of him walking through a museum of himself. Hoping there's a variation of this:

Not a fan of the so-called "MCU" or Marvel in general, but this trailer was pretty fucking amazing. (Redford goes a long way toward selling the movie's credibility, too).Quoting number8 (view post)
Only fear is that this'll be a YA-style Jason Bourne with a shit ton of CGI.
But, whatever. When the trailer finished I said "Holy shit!" out loud and actually wanted to see the thing. So that worked.
Damn that looks great. Much better than Thor: The Dark World.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Guyssss I geeked out over the trailer with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Paul Rudd will be Hank Pym?

Woah hey now! My new role as a human shield.Quoting Morris Schæffer (view post)
I'm skeptical, but that can be overcome. I just don't see the point to doing an Anchorman sequel. But if it's good, it's good. I'm just afraid of a mediocre sequel to something I absolutely love i.e. Ghostbusters 2.
Everyone does a certain amount of prejudging. Most of my final ratings fall pretty close to what I expect a movie to do. It's when my expectations and reality are far apart that I'm genuinely surprised. Which doesn't happen that often.
Remember how I was going to do the banners and then didn't? Mwahahaha! I tasted everyone's tears and they were so good!Quoting Morris Schæffer (view post)

If there were more scenes like the ones with the train and the Titanic, then we might have had a winner. Instead, they just used the same plot as the first movie.

I just realized that the Cap trailer has a shot of Natasha shooting two guns right at the camera. Is that allowed now?
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
What the hell? Like this?Quoting number8 (view post)
I think he means in advertisements. The MPAA has really weird rules about showing weapons & "two fisting" handguns in the context of trailers and posters.Quoting Grouchy (view post)
The Lara Croft/ Tomb Raider posters are a good example. She famously dual wields in the videogames, but if you take a close look at the movie posters, one of her hands in always in shadow.
Correct. Green band trailers are approved by the MPAA, and they have two rules about guns: they can't be pointed at the audience, and you can't have a shot where people are pointing guns at each other. Which is why the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer infamously had a shot that CGIed out guns being pointed at Indy, and instead had guards with their guns pointed down. Almost all movie trailers will have people pointing/shooting guns off to the side, and at no one in particular. It's one of those things that when you know about it, it becomes really obvious.
Here's the trailer for a movie that is literally just people shooting guns at each other. Try to find a single shot where you see a gun being fired at the camera without it cutting away, or one where the gun is being pointed at a person in the same shot:
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
Wow I didn't know that, but yes, now that you mention it...it is really obvious.
Had no idea about all that either. Guess the Shoot 'Em Up trailer is an example of pushing those restrictions as far as they'll go.
