Oof. Portman is pissed about Jenkins being fired. Marvel's working hard to keep her from leaving the film.

I don't get that. How can she leave the movie if she's contractually obliged to do it?
Doesn't that mean you're...you know...contractually obliged to do it? Like, the studio could sue your ass off if you refuse?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Don't like it.
Like it better than a reboot/make.
Well...it sounds better than Aronofsky's Batman.
I guess it has that going for it.

He still tells the origin, and anyone accustomed to Spider-Man knows the Gwen Stacy story. Sort of the whole "Great power is great responsibility" thing. I find it no different really.Quoting transmogrifier (view post)
Eh, not so much. Osborn attacked Gwen specifically because he knew Peter was Spiderman and wanted to hurt him by killing his girlfriend. It's more "great power, great consequences." Gwen died BECAUSE he became a hero. That's like the exact opposite of the lesson of Uncle Ben's death.

Captain America 2 set for April 4, 2014
Hmmm, putting Cap 2 in April of that year instead of any following summer months seems like they may want to tee up Avengers 2 immediately after (perhaps July since WB won't have Harry Potters or Dark Knights to dominate that month anymore). It makes even more sense since we'll have Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 in 2013 and they're not going to bother with another Hulk movie anytime soon.
Lotta twos and threes there.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:
Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
Diva (Beineix, 1981)
Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)
Cap 2 should be way more interesting than the first. Now that he's in present day, I feel the villains will be more relevant. I will withhold my anticipation until I see him in the Avengers though.
Ben Kingsley is going to be the main villain in Iron Man 3. It's heavily based on "Extremis," so he'll probably play a nanotech virus scientist or something.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
I always thought the concept in "Extremis" was pretty cool, and there could be a lot done with it thematically.
