I agree with your bottom statement. Both movie timelines are literally ahead of real life timeline. So there's a billion different ways they can incorporate Jackman's Wolverine into the MCU, regardless of the multiverse.
Oh yeah, it wouldn't bother me if they brought him back for pre-Logan-movie timeline stuff. I would prefer they wouldn't try to bring him back post that movie. Like "we found a way to suck the adamantium out and know hes alive again!" or something.

That sounds like the type of X-Men movie you'd find on PornHub.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

*doorbell of the X Mansion rings*

Storm answers the door, wearing a towel. She sees Logan standing there with no shirt and holding a pizza box at hip level.

Logan: I'm here to fix the cable.

Storm: Oh perfect, let me show you the bedroom.

*cut to an obvious motel bedroom, with a poorly drawn X symbol on the wall*

Logan and Storm are lying on the bed kissing when the bathroom door opens, and both Jean Grey and Professor Xavier come out.

Xavier: Logan, I've brought these two lovely mutants to help...relieve...some of your...burden...

Jean Grey: we are going to suck...every single drop...of...adamantium...out of you...
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

I rewatched Avengers Age of Ultron. I've been quite vocal that I think its the bottom of the MCU (even with Thor 2). I have watched it probably 4-5 times. This is the first time that I really turned around on it. It still has issues, but I've definitely softened on it. I feel its important to admit such things to maintain credibility. Maybe I was too hard on it.

Still has that scene where dude falls face first on woman's tits gag, really Joss? Its fuckin' weird.

There are a lot of good scenes though.

Also rewatched Civil War. I still like it, Zemo is fucking great, but I still maintain that Tony's reaction doesn't play for me. I mean, I get it, but for a supposed super genius just coming off fucking up so bad in so many ways in every movie, and being all about regret and turning the choices over to higher powers, he sure loses his shit quick while still fully understanding Bucky was not in any sort of control of his actions.

Really funny you're posting this now, because my wife and I rewatched it after the latest WandaVision episode, and I've now turned around a bit on it. There's a ton of stuff that doesn't work, even though I think the character interactions are really good.

To be fair, there was a TON of studio interference Whedon had to deal with ike perlmutter's crap. I had written an extended review of it, but didn't save it and had my PC restarted. I'll try to get around to it again.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Spader's Ultron is just not threatening. They did almost nothing to his voice (beyond the early stages), so he sounds too much like a regular dude. And if he gets some of his lackadaisical snark from Tony, well, that was a bad choice. I wouldn't require him to twirl his mustache, but with a talent like Spader, you gotta give us more than...that.

The 2015 Fantastic Four is a strange little movie that's actually kind of decent if you pretend it doesn't have anything to do with the Fantastic Four. So many great actors here (Reg E. Cathey is amazing in a thankless role) it's a shame the result isn't better. I really like the body horror aspects of the post-catastrophe. Even the "scientists working together on science work" montage feels genuine. I don't...really know what's going on with Doom. The overall thing could have benefited from an extra 20 minutes or so. There's actually some care in the characters' relationships to one another, but most aren't given a proper resolution.

Rumors swirling that Daisy Ridley is working out a deal to play Spider-Woman.

Yes please. I think she's great. And after the utter goat fuck that was the sequel trilogy, it would be nice to see her get a new, properly handled series to play around in.

Whedon reused that same "gag" in Justice League too, if it wasn't already obvious that he was a creep: https://youtu.be/tISURN8pQv4 Ugh. But as for Age Of Ultron itself, I'm not a huge MCU fan, but I actually enjoyed it on the whole, moreso than the original Avengers even, which, for all the hype it got as the first big "when worlds collide" moment for that franchise, still felt like a very generic, forgettable Superhero movie to me. Ultron, on the other hand, at least had some actual style & personalty to it, which this guy goes into detail on here...

...and, while it's hardly a great movie, since it still feels like a fundamentally disposable corporate product, at least it was a reasonably enjoyable one for me.

I do agree with him about the look of both films. It's especially obvious with Steve Rogers on the Heli carrier. You can see ALL his makeup.. especially in 4K.

The rest is all a DC fan's take on a Marvel film.

It's crazy how good Infinity War is and its fucking embarrassing how much Endgame makes me cry.

Maybe it's because I have an older daughter and two young sons. Maybe it's because I'm getting older. But what happens to Clint in the beginning devastates me. He was all alone at the snap. Everyone else understood at some level what was happening. Not him. He was all alone. The panic. The terror. The anger. The fear. The rage.

And boom, my face is just leaking all over the place.

Then he says "dont give me hope", in that slight stutter Captain Kirk Star Trek 2 way and I'm a fucking mess again.

    That part was great.

I liked Age of Ultron more than most did. The opener with them in the woods battling Hydra forces was pretty cool.
    Blog!

    And it's happened once again
    I'll turn to a friend
    Someone that understands
And sees through the master plan
    But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up

    Infinity War is just exhausting.

Endgame feels like we get a little more time to breathe.

    No, I think that's awesome.

I just thought the amount of plot packed into Infinity War was enough for a mini series.

Infinity War and Endgame could have been a 10 episode series and it still would have felt rushed and cramped.

The fact that it makes any cohesive sense at all is kind of incredible.
