I typically don't view comics and their film adaptations with the same lens, so I'm more interested in the casting working for the story and tone the filmmaker is going for rather than how accurately it portrays a character from the comics.
Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine is up there with Reeve's Superman and Snipes' Blade for me. He so perfectly embodies the character that the films have created - a less animalistic take on the character, for sure, but the ferocity he is able to channel juxtaposed with the pretty leading man charm that comes so naturally to him is impressive. He's really made it his own, and to many now (including myself), he is Wolverine.
No, he's not a short, stocky, grumpy fighter (a simplification of the character, I know), but if I want that Wolverine there are plenty of places I can go to get it.
Which sums up how I feel about the whole discussion - if you want a character to be exactly like the comics, just go read the comics.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I wonder what all the vibrating camera stuff is about.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I assume Charles doing something.
It could be a punch in my face and I'd still be excited.
It's most likely gonna be about comics and has nothing to do with movies.

Well I'm banking on a Thor 3 teaser.
It's a video game collaboration. Square Enix teams up with Marvel for The Avengers project
Fuckin finally. Andy Serkis / Klaw officially joins Black Panther
I hate it when the big reveal is empty. SHOW US SOMETHING.
FYI if you want MCU news you should not expect it from Marvel. The fact that it was a Marvel announcement was how I knew it wasn't going to be about any of the movies.

Spider-man 3 2023
Avengers: Illuminati 2023
Warlock is getting his own movie?
Is there even a Namor?
It's only actually planned until 2020 right?
That's my prediction. Warlock would be getting his own movies. I read that Feige said, that if he were to announce the Phase 4 lineup now, it would spoil events in Infinity War. Which leads me to believe there are certain characters being introduced in those two movies that will be getting their own movies.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
What do you mean is there even a Namor?
Up until a few months ago, Namor rights was still with Fox. I think that's what E's asking.

Oh, Yeh the way I read it, Marvel has them from a development standpoint. I'm guessing distribution is with another studio.
If the world makes it to a Phase 5, that's when they reboot the whole thing and restart Iron Man.
2025 PREDICTION. lol.
135 minute running time for Logan... Ugh
???Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Maybe we should decide if a movie is too long after we see it? If it really wants simultaneously have that sort of modern western and be the final Wolverine film in this mould, I'd want it to have a slow-burn feel and not leave any storytelling stone unturned. Not to mention at least 10 mins of that are guaranteed to be credits.
Also, all of Nolan's Batman movies are way longer than this and I don't think either of us would say they needed drastic trimming.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:
Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
Diva (Beineix, 1981)
Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)
The thing is, all of Nolan's Batman movies aren't Logan.Quoting Henry Gale (view post)
I hope its an epic send off for Jackman. He deserves it.
Sure?.. but assuming it can't be great because it's longer than you arbitrarily expected is weird to me.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I'll just say this, the three shortest X-Men movies are the original (OK!), The Last Stand (oh..), and Origins: Wolverine ()
Exactly. Why rush a goodbye?Quoting Skitch (view post)

Agreed with Gale. Besides, Old Man Logan (the comic it's sort of based on) is kind of plot-heavy.
