They also don't make money on the movie merchandise.

I haven't seen the new films, but I think it would be neat to have Garfield cross over to the MCU.

It's already apparently been nailed down that Garfield is no longer Spider-Man, MCU or not.

Wait, I thought he had at least one more movie he had to do?

I actually really like both Amazing Spider-Man movies, but Spidey is better off in the hands of Marvel. Sucks for Garfield, though. I liked him as Spider-Man better than Tobey Maguire.

Who do you guys think should play Peter Parker in the re-reboot?

Denzel Washington in a gritty R-rated reboot directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by the Hughes Brothers.

I'd be happy never seeing another Spider-Man movie ever again. So over that character. Much like Thor, he'll probably be more tolerable as a supporting character in an ensemble.

Brandon Routh. Just introduce him as an older Spider-man in Civil War. Not the high school Spider-man.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I don't much like Spider-Man. I recognize his importance and have enjoyed a few stories, but he never tickled my fancy like Superman or Batman.

I'm most looking forward to Dr. Strange at this point.

He's always been my second favorite superhero behind Batman.

I wouldn't mind if it was more like: "Oh here's Spidey, in Civil War, take a side. Oh by the way, we saw you on TV fighting that one time, you should join our cause."

And then all of a sudden there's a spin-off Spidey vs Doc Oct. Kinda of how they handled the Hulk minus the spin-off. Because remember, they did acknowledge the Incredible Hulk in the Avengers after a recast.

Donald Glover as the next Spider-Man is the only correct answer here. Doesn't need to be a reboot, just use alternate reality hijinks.

Right, but that's not a reboot. I'm fine with him joining Marvel and The Avengers universe, but if they decide to make another film about him getting bit and his maturation process just because it's a new actor and director, then fuck off.

    Agreed with K-Fan.

Enough people know the origin and the character at this point. Having him join in mid-battle, and then continuing his character afterward wouldn't bat anyone's eyes.

Massive bias aside, I'm all for it.

The fact that he's voicing Miles Morales in an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man soon is a great premonition.

There's another email from the leak talking about how Spider-Man should be treated like James Bond and just roll into new stories no matter if the creative team is new to the series or not. Enough origin nonsense. Absolutely how it should be. Across the board in superhero films. Never show me dead Uncle Bens, Martha and Thomas Waynes, or exploding Kryptons again.

That was the plan if they had gotten the deal. Marvel wanted to introduce a Spidey who's already established as a hero.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

8 your instincts are usually pretty good for this type of stuff.

Do you think we may end up seeing Spidey in the MCU after all?

I think so? Not sure if it's anytime soon, but I'd probably say Sony has at most one more movie to try to mount a franchise by themselves before people get fired and the parent company force them to work with Marvel.

I'm wondering when we will actually see anything from the new F4.

It comes out in just a few months and I don't think we've even seen a set photo.

Early word is apparently the studio is not happy at all with Trank's take on the film.
    Sure why not?
