It’s still got the 20th Century Fox logo attached, so I’m thinking it likely still ties more into the Fox X-Men franchise, and likely won’t be connected at all to the MCU. Who knows the truth, but here's an article seeming to indicate that this is gonna be Josh Boone's original version. It's possible the reshoots might have never happened, and that the Disney/Fox merger combined with Simon Kinberg's influence waning after the failure of Dark Phoenix have the whole thing reverting back to Boone's original cut.
