Denzel as Magneto is great ironic casting.

Can’t wait for all the “I’m not racist, but...” complaints.
Washington is 64. He's booked through at least 2020. A Marvel contract would be a 3 picture commitment and would take 10 years out of his working life, leaving him little time for anything else.
He doesn't do sequels, really. I mean, this is an actor with a 40 year career and the only time he's repeated himself was "Equalizer 2" last year.
The originator of this rumor seems to be We Got This Covered, which someone here recently derided as a shit source (and it is).

Full Circle Cinema actually seems to be the originator in this instance. Not sure of their legitimacy but based on the way the article reads, it smells like bullshit.
Although Lance Reddick as Charles Xavier would be kinda kickass.

I can't see him as Magneto anyway.
While all of your other points are 100% valid, I just want to point out that Ian McKellan was 61 when he took on the role.Quoting Irish (view post)
Could totally see Denzel taking on a different, more aggressive approach to Magneto. Would've loved if that ended up being true.
I'd be stunned beyond measure to see someone like Denzel be Magneto. It's like....wild. I have a hard time believing someone as serious as he is being interested in this world. But then Tom Cruise went and did a Mummy movie.

Also neat since the Singer films conceived Magneto and Xavier as Malcolm X and MLK, respectively.
So is he still a holocaust victim?
The severed arm perfectly acquitted itself, because of the simplicity of its wishes and its total lack of doubt.
True, but McKellan wasn't as widely known then as Denzel is now.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
It's harder to convince people to take these jobs, I imagine, when they're already household names and enormously wealthy.

I'm not racist, but if future X-Men movies could try to completely replicate the 90s cartoon, that would be perfect.

Yeah, if/when Wolverine shows up in the MCU, if he doesn't wear the yellow spandex, it's a wasted effort.

I’m not racist, but X-Men peaked with Logan.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
I'm not racist, but Logan wasn't even that good.
Meg is super racist, and I think Logan is a top tier comic book movie.
E makes Hitler look like Anne Frank, and is also correct about the quality of Logan.

Logan is better than every single thing the MCU has produced, and with plenty of room to spare. Yet the rest of the X-Men series are cheap, dingy bores for the most part that would rank in the bottom half of the MCU.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
